I decided to make Teramisu for our Easter dinner - this recipe looked yummy and simple. Seldom do I have goof-ups when it comes to baking - but I blew it this time!! For the filling instead of the mascarpone cheese I decided to cut costs and use the cream cheese - sour cream & "HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM" substitution. Couldn't figure why my layers of cake kept swimming off the plate and it was so sloppy!!? It should have been "HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM" - WHIPPED!! I salvaged the cake layers - trimmed them to fit a 8" triffle bowl - scraped off the filling and made a Tiramisu Triffle. Just one of the little problems of changing a recipe that really doesn't need change! Thank you God for wisdom (better late than never) & a little creativity!!
