Brown Chicken Stock

This is an excellent chicken broth. It's easy to make, and sooo much better than store bought. Plus, it's "all natural." I use it to substitute for oil in a lot of my cooking. It's much healthier.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Carrot Cake III

Excellent recipe. I was lamenting that I couldn't use my usual carrot cake recipe because it's packed away in storage back in the U.S., but in the end I am glad to have found this recipe. Like others I subbed applesausce for half the oil and used half whole wheat flour. You can't tell the difference and it's less unhealthy. I used cream cheese frosting II from this website.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

I have made my husband many a chocolate cake, but he deemed this as "The cake I have been looking for all my life." If made a day in advance and frozen, it is even richer and more moist. I topped it with a ganache, and everyone at our party thought it was amazing. I'll be using this recipe the rest of my life.

Good 100% Whole Wheat Bread

I usually do wheat bread with only 1/3 whole wheat flour, because I don't like whole wheat bread that much, but this bread was excellent. It isn't too dense, and it is quite moist. I make bread a few times a week, and my husband said this is the best I have ever made. I made it by hand: proofed the yeast, let rise 1 1/4 hours, then formed into loaves and let rise about 45 minutes. Baked on 350 for 30 minutes.

Amish White Bread

This is a nice hearty bread, but not too heavy. Like others, I put 1/4 cup of sugar and used half wheat, half white flour. I live in Taiwan where it's not easy to get good bread, so I'm glad I found a recipe that comes out perfect every time.

Potato Chowder Soup I

Great chowder. I substituted green onion for the celery (don't like celery) and added broccoli. I also followed the advice of other reviewers and added a chiken broth cube.

Vegetarian Quiche

Tasty and healthy. The curry gives it an interesting touch that I liked. I substituted broccoli for the zuchini, and it turned out great.
