Braised Pork Ragu

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Blah. I added so much extra spice, but this really still had very little taste.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
I Cut the sugar to 1/2 c. And used a splenda/sugar mixture...and it was still too sweet.I can taste sugar more than corn! I used light butter/oil combo to make 1/3 cup, and 3 tsp baking powder to make it less crumbly, as others suggested. the texture was excellent, so next time I would cut the sugar even more.

Greek Chicken Stew (Stifado)

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I followed the recipe but took others' advice and added more spice -- lots of garlic, oregano, basil. It still was kind of bland -- last minute I quartered mushrooms and sauteed, then added, as well as chunks of green and red peppers. The chicken was very tender as a simmered it for hours, but just not that flavorful.

This, minus the lime juice, is a recipe we have been using for years. It is just delicious!

Kalamata Pork Tenderloin with Rosemary

the olive sauce was tasty, but didn't really permeate the chops; they were still "blah."

Very bland chicken, and we added garlic and onions. Very tender, though.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
I don't understand the hype about this recipe! I tasted it when it was almost done, and it was a bit bland, so I added more garlic and ginger. It was still a bit bland when done, and the beef, although falling apart, was still a bit tough. Not a bad recipe, but not a great one. What did I do wrong? (I used sirloin tip strips and low-salt everything)
