Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Definitely will try this next time with the hot sausage. I used mild and added red pepper flakes, but it was too spicy. Will not do the red pepper next time. I think this was a tasty substitute for the Carabba's restaurant version which I love!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Wonderful!!! I did substitute sugar with sucanat and used an egg replacement product due to allergies in our household. It was wonderful....did I already say that??!! I also used a combo of whole/skim milk and thought the creaminess was perfect. We had short grain rice on hand (leftovers, actually). An easy way to make dessert...just make a bit of extra rice with dinner and use it up in this recipe!! We also salted our rice when we cooked it.

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
My husband and I thought these were great - I wouldn't change a thing. I did try to decrease the sugar in the recipe and they didn't harden - so I'm sticking to the 'ol tried and true!

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
These were really great! They fell off the bone after cooking. Instead of chile sauce, I used some leftover tomato sauce, brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon, allspice and ground cloves. I also added one minced garlic clove and a dash of liquid smoke. Did I mention that these were fabulous?!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about them...

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I took another cook's recommendation and used tomato paste and less tomato sauce. The sauce ended up somewhat bitter (even with the extra spices). I might try it again, but use less sauce and no tomato paste.

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
We thought these were great. I even added gluten-free flour to the recipe (because of my husband's wheat allergy) and it was delicious.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
I think this would also make a great mexican dip (minus the tortillas). I made mine with Corn tortillas as my husband can't eat wheat and this recipe still turned out great.

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
These are awesome meatballs! The recipe as written is a very sweet bbq sauce. Add a little less if you'd like them a bit spicier.
