Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
EXCELLENT! Of course you can change it up to suit your tastes, but this is a thousand times better than anything bottled; as far as a basic tartar sauce goes. I've made this numerous times; by adding fresh parsley from my garden, outstanding! Any fresh herb goes very well to change up the flavor since we eat fish a lot. Surprise your tastebuds. Even great with curry powder; go on experiment with it.

Crab & Avocado Salad with Fruit Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
XLNT! Used peaches, cilantro, Walla onions and lemon juice; all else the same. Served on gourmet lettuces and packaged crabmeat from Walmart, topped with fresh corn off the cob. We loved it, but I wished I had some limes. I will surely make this again with other fruits and combine some fruits as well. Very unique, impressive and tasty!

I have yet to make these, but the drool on my chin and keyboard tells me they 'd be some pretty tasty vittles!

Algerian Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
Not so much for me. It was good but I thought it needed more cumin, S&P. It was a nice change from the sweet carrot recipes though. Don't let my tastebuds dissuade you cause I'm in the minority here.

Zippy Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
XLNT! I've made this several times and it's so easy to add other spices to change it up. I had made some curry catsup and used it - excuse my drool! I've even printed this and added it to my personal cookbook that I take in the RV when traveling the countryside. Try it, you'll like it. Oh yeah I increased the garlic cause we love it.

I haven't made this - just wanted to thank Helen for the basic mix, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I've made this several times since summer '09. It is excellent and super easy. If you want to spice it up a bit add some hot sauce, I use Tabasco, and peanuts - kinda twist on what I've had at Thai restaurants. I've also added pineapple, apples, raisins, onions and so much more - depends on what I'm serving with it. My latest was pulled pork from this site - super delish! Experiment and have fun!

Mint Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This mint dish is marvelous! I changed the margarine - I used butter, used 3 cloves garlic and a tad more lemon juice. Also used a rice recipe from here, just browned rice with sweet onions before dumping in the rice cooker. Delish and I would serve this to guests. Our veggie was broccoli with a squeeze of lemon.

Dijon Yogurt Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This is an amazing dressing. I've never had a yogurt based one and will continue to make them. The only thing I did was add a dollop more of honey. It was excellent and can be altered with the variety of mustards and honeys available today. For the poster who didn't like the color - there is white balsamic and it's just as tasty.

Lemon and Cilantro Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
I had cilantro and lemons to use and found this recipe - hubby actually made it and we loved it. Super simple and very tasty. I added more cilantro to mine after cooking cause I love the flavor. Going in my big recipe binder.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
Delicious, but like some others I added 2 eggs and they still didn't keep together as much as I would like. Increased hot sauce and coated w/parme cheese, baked 375 for 30 mins, flipping after 15, in CI skillet. Added celery w/tops cause I didn't have any parsley. This is definitely a keeper for me but I will tweak it to fit my tastebuds. Noted some other suggestions like Ritz crackers and Spanish olives and will give them a try. Also used leftover grilled salmon not canned - not a fan of the can.
