Polka Dots

These tasted great, but were flat, and I mean FLAT...my pancakes are fluffier. I couldn't take them to the luncheon that they were intended for. Like cardstock flat, huge disappointment.

Ham and Cheese Picnic Bread

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
This is a great recipe! This time I fried hamburger with diced onions, crushed garlic and seasoning salt and filled the center with that and sharp cheddar cheese. I also cut the sides of the dough with kitchen shears and it is a ton easier! Very GOOD!

Wilted Lettuce

It was pretty good but.... DO NOT pour the vinegar, water, etc. in the hot bacon grease. The recipe says to remove from heat but it should say let cool about 5 minutes at least. I let it cool for a couple minutes and that wasn't long enough. It actually exploded and burnt me very badly when I dumped it in the hot grease. Be careful.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
Excellent!!! Do not change a thing. The batter is very dry and looks like hot cocoa mix until you add the zucchini then it looks like brownie batter and according to my 7 yr. old, even the batter is sooo yummy. Perfect recipe*****

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I love pumpkin bread but this had too much spice for me and my family. I would make it again, but would leave out the cloves and the ginger all together and use very little of the nutmeg (maybe 1/8tsp). The bread had a perfect consistency and would be very good if you use less spice.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
This is the best chicken dish ever!!! I didn't have hours to prepare it so I took the chicken breats and sliced them in about 2" peices and fried them in the butter and the Zesty Italian Seasoning mix until it was brown. Then I mixed the cream cheese and the soup and about a cup of whole milk together in my crock pot and turned it on high then added the chicken and seasonings for about 30 min. until it was all bubbly. Then I boiled some wide egg noodles , set both bowls on the table and my family put the chicken and sauce over the noodles and absolutely raved over how great it all tasted. Wooo Hooo!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
This is probably my favorite recipe on this site. I fix this for my picky boys who don't eat anything but junk usually, and they love this. I decrease the cinnamon to 2tsp because it was too much for me, but I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon. It tastes more like cake than bread. I bake two loaves and on one loaf I sprinkle chopped pecans on the top before I bake it and it makes the best crunchy topping ever! I always have tons of zucchinni in the summer so I shred it, freeze it and use it all winter in this recipe.

Stovetop Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
I doubled this recipe and added rice crispies and a box of bran flakes cereal with dried fruit and almonds already in it in step #3 and put in an airtight container and shook it all together and it is soooo delicious. Most other granola recipes have you bake it for over an hour, this one is so simple and so good!

Don't try to make regular size muffins with this recipe they will not get done in the center, but the mini-muffins are excellent!
