Easy Pesto

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
This pesto recipe is very good! I've never made pesto before. It was super-easy with no fuss. The most difficult part for me was getting my food processor to work! I used it for a chicken and pasta recipe I was doing. The only thing I changed was not toasting the almonds. I didn't want to take the time to preheat my oven. I will definitely make this again!

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Super-delicious! I adjusted the bread crumb and parmesan cheese amount to match the # of chops. I didn't use butter. I used my own dried sage. The lemon was a great idea! I also added 5 minutes to the time. They were really easy. I'll definitely make again.

Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
Very yummy! I took some strawberries out and added raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I also substituted stevia blend for sugar and used less than called for. I also used orange juice because I didn't have pineapple. Delicious!

Amish Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
LOVE these cookies. So do the ladies I work with. It was really easy to do and the recipe yields ALOT of cookies. They do seem a little crumby but they melt in your mouth. My husband described them as fluffy. I'll definitely make these again.

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2012
This recipe was delicious! I feel like it took me all day to cook but it was worth it. Per recommendations, I increased the temperature to 380 during the 2nd half of the cook time and also added cooked apples to the meal. The pork loin was super-juicy and the flavor was amazing. Totally worth cooking!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
This soup was awesome! The only changes I made were not adding the red pepper and using frozen spinach instead of fresh. I did not thicken up the way some reviewers said but it was still delicious! It's great for leftovers, too. If you're looking for a light meal, this is it. I will definitely make it again!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This is the best pancake recipe! I have a couple others that I've tried and the pancakes never come out fluffy enough. The only change I made was using butter instead of shortening. They still come out really good.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
Holy moly, was that a good brownie! I've never made brownies from scratch before. This recipe is awesome! The only things I did differently were reduce the flour to 1 cup per the recommendation of others and add chocolate chips. I also cooked them for the full 30 mins in a 9X13 glass pan. These might be the best brownies I've ever had.

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
This was soooo easy! I had never used a broiler before. I boiled the ribs as instructed. I didn't have apple cider vinegar so I used KC Masterpiece Original BBQ sauce. I basted the ribs on one side and broiled them for 3 mins. I turned them and basted them again for another 3 mins. After I took them out of the oven I put a little more sauce on them. They came out really yummy. I was quite proud of myself. I wish I had two racks!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This resipe came out wonderfully. I read through the reviews and pulled together different parts with the ingredients I had. I didn't use 16 oz of sauerkraut because I didn't have it. I used a much smaller portion. I used regular onions instead of pearl. I used only one apple to line the bottom of the slow cooker, among other things. My husband said they were the tenderest pork chops he'd ever had. They were really good.

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
I had never made country gravy before today. It was pretty easy. I didn't use as much milk. I think I used between 3 1/4 - 3 1/2. I had to whisk it a whole bunch to make it smooth. But it was pretty tasty!

Layered Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
This recipe was so good! I used canned peaches because fresh peaches aren't in season. The rest of the recipe followed exactly. I made it the night before for my church's Easter lunch and it was devoured. Thanks for so such a yummy, easy fruit salad.

Strawberry Cake and Frosting I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
This cake was a big success at my daughter's 4th birthday party. The cake part I did exactly what the recipe said. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with the frozen strawberries so I popped in the microwave for about 20 seconds to defrost them a little. Then I threw them in the food processor. I didn't know how else to blend them into the cake batter. I had to cook the cake about 38 mins. That is because I used a larger crown cake tin. The frosting worked a little differently. I did not drain the juices since I used the food processor. I wound up using closer to 7 cups of sugar for the frosting. It was pretty sweet so I added a little less than a 1/2 tsp of salt. The cake was really good. Definitely a keeper and worth sharing with others.

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
I used this recipe over Thanksgiving bc I was out of town & didn't have access to my regular recipe. It was pretty good but I think I cooked it a little too long. I've made pecan pie multiple times and this one was different with the cooking of the sugar mixture. But it still tasted really good.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

I made these cupcakes for my family's Easter dinner. I followed the recipe exactly. I used white cake mix and chocolate whipped frosting. I froze the cookie dough for several hours. They came out perfect! Thanks for such a neat idea for cupcakes.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I made this seasoning mix specifically for a fajita recipe (Fabulous Fajitas) that is also from this site. It works great. I haven't tried it for anything else yet but I hope to in the future.

Country Fried Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Today was the first time I had made fried steak. 4 minutes was too long on each side. After the 1st steak, I cooked them closer to 3 minutes. The egg and milk mixture wasn't quite enough for all 4 steaks. They may have been larger than the recipe called for. I also used Chicago steak seasoning b/c it was what I had. However, they came out pretty well and I will definitely use this recipe again.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
I cooked these up tonight and they came out pretty nice. I followed the recipe except I doubled the sauce as per the recommendation of others. I also covered the pork chops for the first half hour and uncovered them the second. They came out very juicy. Next time I will substitute the ketchup for bbq sauce per the request of my husband and see how that turns out.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This was really good and really easy to make. The only changes I made were not peeling the potatoes and using buillion cubes instead of powder. I don't think I used enough cubes. I omitted the salt as well. Next time, I will add the salt back. I doubled the recipe so that I could freeze it for a later date. Worth eating again!

Easy Flat Iron Steak in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I used all the ingredients in this recipe except the mushrooms. My husband is allergic. I never cool steak because I am always afraid of messing it up. However, the steaks came out really nice. I didn't use flat-iron steaks either. I don't know what they are. I used whatever type of steak I had. I also cooked the steaks longer than required because we like ours well-done. This is a really good recipe.
