I am optimistic, creatively-inclined and enjoy creative pursuits such as cooking, baking, music and drawing.
My favorite things to cook
Italian food, mostly pasta, lasagne etc. I love baking too, and have baked loads of stuff ranging from muffins to custard puffs to apple crumbles. Desserts are also a favorite of mine to prepare. Mostly, I delight in cooking the unexpected, unheard of, untried recipe because i'm still gaining experience in this hobby of cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Malay cooking is traditionally yummy, although hazardous to the health in the long term, what with generous servings of coconut milk and oil used in the cooking process.
My cooking triumphs
Loads! Most recently, fresh fruit cobbler that was a delight amongst family taste testers. Not so recently, BBQ chicken rice and also dark chocolate tart and creamy cheese fusili chicken.
My cooking tragedies
Sponge cake that turned out horribly flat, brownies that were over-browned. Ironically, it is the basic, apparently easy to follow recipes that I falter in.

Dark Chocolate Cake I
This was a hit with my family! I lessened the butter and sugar cos I wanted it to be less fattening. Yet, the cake still tasted moist and fluffy! Instead of all-purpose flour, I used self-raising flour and a 1/2 tsp of baking soda (disregarding the baking powder) and the cake was just nice, not too dense. Good on its own, but better with frosting.

Fresh Fruit Cobbler
i'm 18, and am a budding baker! i must say that this recipe is not only easy to make but also incredibly delicious when eaten warm! i find that sprinkling sugar and a bit of cinnamon onto the fruit before adding the dough doesn't hurt. oh, and instead of peaches i used apples and mangoes, which was quite refreshing given their contrasting flavors:)
