Turkey-Stuffed Peppers

Took a little longer on the prep time than the recipe suggested. But this was great. A great twist on stuffed peppers.

We could have used a little more of a kick, but otherwise it was great!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Like one of the other reviewers, I didn't have any red pepper. I went with half the amount of cayenne and it turned out great. I also wasn't sure how much this makes - but it seemed to make the amount you'd find in one spice package.

So simple to make. I love it! Make sure you are using good quality balsamic though.

Roasted Grapes and Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
The cooking time really was problematic. It also didn't have quite enough spice for our tastes.

We absolutely love this. It's going to become a staple at our Shabbat dinners! The cranberries add a nice touch for the fall.

Carrot Chile and Cilantro Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I liked this but my roommate didn't. We served it to a dinner of 16 people and while some loved it, others left theirs almost untouched. I think the look may have scared some away. For the taste, maybe a little more cilantro would have helped.

I literally make this for almost every meal I have people over for. It's relatively simple and is such a crowd pleaser!

Almond-Topped Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This was good, but not great. Just too bland for us. No complaints from the guests, but not rave reviews either.

Pineapple Orange Sorbet

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I fell asleep and this never made it through the food processor a second time, but it was still great. The guests were impressed by a sorbet because they assumed it took a lot of skill and time, but it was simple. The guests loved it! It also works great for me when I'm craving something sweet. I keep this no-fat dessert in my freezer whenever possible!

While these were simple, they just didn't have enough taste for us.

Garlicky Beet Delight

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
My roommate swore up and down that she wouldn't eat beets. But, after they were cooked and I convinced her to try one, I couldn't get her to stop eating these before the guests arrived. She loved them - and the guests loved what was left of them!

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
These are simple to make, but they taste pretty simple. They just taste like soft carrots - no kick. But because of the simplicity, I gave them 4 stars.

Honey Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I often cook for over a dozen people and this makes the main entree simple! And if you make extra dressing, you can heat it up and serve it again without anyone knowing you are serving leftovers!

Challah I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
My roommate was terrified that I was going to try baking the challah for our Shabbat dinner considering that I had only tried to bake Challah once before and we hadn't purchased a back-up. But, it turned out great! I did add a little more honey and egg after reading the other reviews, but I'm not sure if it was necessary or not. Either way, she's passing on the recipe to her mother and now that we have this recipe, we've sworn off purchasing challah!
