Mom's Best Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
came out perfect! But I need a double batch for my family of 4. I'm not sure how that first batch makes 6 servings. I got 5 waffles out of it. Unless you split one in 2 for 2 little kids?

I did not care for this recipe. With all my guests this weekend, 3/4 of it is still leftover in my fridge. :(

Strawberry Jam

was AMAZING! I made this for Pesach when we don't use too many processed foods. I let it boil for more like 20 minutes to make sure it would be a good consistency.

really really good! But I doubled the oil & garlic, and think it still needed more garlic.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
left out ginger since DH told me yesterday he doesn't like. too much orange zest. next time do a bit less. otherwise really good. tastes very much like in restaurants. takes quite a few minutes to make meat crispy. So start more in advance.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
delicious & so much easier than frying all the french toast. I mixed egg mixture, poured bread into bowl, mixed & then poured in pan. Baked right away. needs a bit more sugar in the batter. I'd prob. double the sugar.

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
too much starch. Leave out potatoes. I was thinking of putting zucchini instead. I diced veges into small pieces. Too much pepper. Maybe only ½ the amount next time. The dumplings were too big, and didn't cook inside. Make dumplings size of teaspoon, and cook longer. Also, to cut time, I cooked chicken in water for 1 hour then cut up chicken & placed bones&skin in soup bag. The put it all back in pot and added veges for ½ hour. Then added dumplings. Maybe next time I'd cook the dumplings separately, like in a soupmix/water mixture, and then serve them in same bowl.

Broccoli and Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
this was a great salad! The tortellini I get comes in a pkg of 12 oz. I made that with 1 triple bunch of broccoli. It served 4. The dressing seems a bit too sweet at first. But if you mix it into the salad about 2 hours before it's really good. I also put craisins instead of raisins, and I put bacos instead of bacon. Will definitely make again!

Frosty Freezer Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
neighbors listened to ingredients & said "marshmallow fluff is good for one thing - rice krispies! Go keep your recipes to yourself. But once it was made & she tasted it, she asked for the recipe. She went crazy when she heard it had fluff in it. She said "but I thought it would be way too sweet" I doubled the recipe, and it was plenty for 3 pies. atleast. I didn't have a 3rd piecrust, so I put it in a round pan w/o crust.

Ginger Steak

really good. DH loved it. I left off the salt, and I put less than ½ tsp salt as others had suggested. I would leave off even more pepper next time. & add more ginger.

Apple Turnovers

Did it with 8 Gala apples, since that's what I needed to get rid of. Doubled the ingredients. I made it into a long strudel. Next time I should prob. use both sheets (made with Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets) Didn't do lemon bath.
