Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
so boyfriend hasnt' issued his vote yet but i did make a few maijor changes.. first being i used two tabs of butter not 2/3 a cup i also used soy milk and red onion rather than green (green is a garnish)rather than bacon i used some left over sprial ham the boyfriend kindly parted with. the cheese and sour cream stayed but i used a bit less of the cream and added some organic chicken broth (it was on sale!) a bit more fresh ground black peper and some cajuin spices and garlic oh and a pinch of thyme too...soup seemed a little thin still so i added a bit of corn starch to thicken it up and it looks great! even the boyfriends brother who hates soymilk with a passion said it smelled good in here will post the restults after dinner :)

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
i made this recepie and it was great! then i made it again with a twist. i added 1/4 a cup of baking coco and used gingersnaps for the crust topping it with pieces of candy canes for a decoration. my pickie eater of a man asked for seconds. this is a dessert that has quickly made the holiday table and because splenda works just as nicly in place of sugar i will make it again and again for any guest that comes over....though one tip if you wish to convert this to a full size cheesecake i would add a little melted butter to the crust to help it hold i would say 1/4 a cup would do that job nicely.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
making this soup right now and it smells great! i left the peels on my potatoes and diced them up threw them in the crook pot with a cup and a half of water.. just to get them going... then i chopped up two little breakfast ham steaks threw them in a pot on the stove to get some color on them draining the pork liquid out and into the crook a couple times so i can keep the nice porkie flavor. after the pork was done i tossed it in the crook pot using the same pot on low heat i cooked my onions down to caramelize them adding a bit of olive oil to the bottom of the pan to deglaze the porkie goodness and brown the onion after making the rue i threw in some smoked Gouda and garlic powder mixed it all in the crook pot and it is going to be ready in time for dinner! smells wonderful nice and thick looking already

Alissa's Vegetarian Lentil Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
so i did the whole bag of lentels, two carrots (about half a lb) a whole green bell pepper, whole med/large red onion, and coupple hand fulls flax seed and zatarans jyumblya mix (we just happened to have on hand) rather than great the carrots i rough chopped everything then threw it in the processor and plused in my lentils. while my rice was cooking. once everything is mixed i foled in the rice to avoid turning it to mush then used my icecream scoop to do 'muffins' of it baked them and they rock!
