Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
These turned out fantastic. My only problem was the icing only make a small amount. It barely covered my entire batch. I think I will double it next time for more icing. It still tasted great.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
My Grandmother used to make these when I was growing up. I have her recipe but her's is not nearly as good as these. This recipe is a lot more moist and I will never go back to the other one.

Chocolate Yule Log

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Turned out amazing for Christmas dinner. Very light and delicious in flavor. I made no changes. My only problem was that it did stick to the towel while I was trying to unroll, but it didn't show when it was iced. I made meringue mushrooms for added effect. There were nonstop comments on the looks and taste.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I tried this for Christmas dinner and it was delicious. I even made it a few days later for another get together (for the other side of the family) and I heard nothing but wonderful comments and everyone asked for the recipe.

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I've never made bean soup before but my husband asked me to make some with the leftover Christmas ham and bone. I followed this recipe pretty close (except the celery b/c I was out) and I only had 4 hours to make and cook, so I took my chances. It turned out fantastic. My husband said this was the absolute BEST soup he's ever had. My southern parents were skeptical since it was different then what they were used to but they were both surprised as well. They kept commenting how wonderful this was.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
The was hthe BEST chicken I have ever tasted. The ONLY thing I did was to use boneless skinles chicke breasts, so I needed to modify the bake time and temp

These were amazing and much better then just using the plain eggs and milk. My kids all loved them.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I helped my 9 year old daughter make this yesterday with a bunch of winesap apples we were given. She did everything except chop the apples and she was so excited to say that it turned out "awesome" and "the best I've ever had". Thanks for such an easy and delicious recipe.

Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
I also wasn't sure about the pumpkin/chocolate combo but the reviews were pretty good so I decided to try it. It was amazing. Very simple looking but the taste was wonderful. I got so many compliments from this. I will definately make this again.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
This was OK but there was not nearly enough of the topping to cover the blueberries I had and the topping was a little bland. I've made better cobblers so I doubt I will use this again.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was VERY easy and very good, however I did substitute fat free cream cheese, skim milk, low fat margarine and part skim parmesan cheese. Even making these substitutions, it was delicious. Also, I used this as a topping to spiced tilapia. I recalculated the nutritional values figuring 8 servings b/c I had more then twice left over. It worked out to 210 Calories and 13.5 grams of fat.

Pork Chops with Garden Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
This was a BIG hit and very easy. I'm always looking for the one-dish dinners to make on busy nights. I did have to alter a little bit b/c I only had instant (Uncle Ben's in the bag rice). I cooked the rice in the bag in the microwave and par-boiled broccoli in chicken broth for 5 min. Then I added red pepper and fresh tomatoes (chopped). I drained most of the broth and mixed the rice and veggies together with a little bit of the broth to keep it from drying out. The rest was followed as directed and it was delicious.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
After reading a lot of the reviews, I decided to cook the chicken breasts in chicken broth for several hours. Then I drained the juice, shredded the chicken and returned it to the crockpot. Then I added the sauce mixture and cooked for another 1-2 hours. This was fantastic and so easy to make. The sauce was delicious.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
I made the mistake of being in a hurry and NOT pre-cooking the shells. Big mistakes b/c even after 45 minutes in the oven, they were still hard in spots. Other then that, I followed the recipe and the taste was good.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
I tried this tonight but used rockfish instead b/c it was on sale and it's my favorite fish. The ONLY thing I did differently was to sprinkle the fish with Old Bay while broiling. I also did use low fat butter and mayo. This was the BEST fish recipe I have ever tasted. My hubby and one of my daughters even commented how delicious it was.

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
These tasted very good but the serving size says "9", that's not true, at least for my family. I have 6 in ours and I had to double the recipe and we still didn't have enough.

Lemonade Stand Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I have been making this pie for several years and it's always a BIG hit. I often add a few drops of yellow food coloring just to give it the nice yellow color.
