Freezer Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
So simple and so yummy! When tomatoes are in season, I buy baskets and make as many batches of this that I can fit in my freezer. I always peel and seed the tomatoes, which is the only fiddly part of this recipe. I usually add fresh yellow and green beans as well as zucchini to the base recipe, then add frozen peas and/or corn with the potato when I'm ready to serve it. Great with added cooked chicken too! Love love love this one.

Sesame Green Beans

So simple and so yummy. This is a keeper. I had a mix of yellow and green beans from the farmer's market on hand, and they turned out beautifully.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Fantastic recipe. I don't add any sugar to the salsa, and I tend to add a more tart preserve, and it disappears. It really is addictive!!

Fast Chicken Soup Base

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
Loved this. Such an easy way to make stock. Let's face it. Those pre-cooked chickens are so much more flavourful than anything you can do yourself. I would recommend making at least a day in advance and chlling so you can remove the fat before making your final soup. Great recipe!

Shepherd's Pie VI

Love the addition of the layer of mashed carrots. It gave this old favourite dish such a unique flavour. I've tried a number of different Shepherd's Pie recipies, but this is by far my favourite. A definite keeper. Many thanks for sharing!

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
Really delicious and very filling. You need to really keep an eye on the red lentils to make sure they don't overcook and like a few other reviewers, I'd suggest removing with a slotted spoon instead of attempting to drain in a collander. They're terribly small.

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
A definite keeper. Only change we made was chicken broth instead of bullion cubes. Also, we just added the cilantro at the table instead of during cooking. Not too spicy, but that can be adjusted to personal taste. Definitely a pleasant change from traditional turkey soup. We're usually so sick of turkey leftovers, that this soup at least felt like quite a change up from the typical turkey dinner flavours. Thanks so much!!!

Literally tasted like a store-bought birthday cake, but fluffier and lighter. Really good recipe for a basic easy to make birthday cake.

Fruited Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Great easy recipe that I'll be sure to try again. Loved the flavour but found the chopped strawberries were too chunky. I'll either puree them next time, or will simply serve them on the side.

Yummy. Not too sweet. I actually chilled the dough for a few minutes before shaping it and I did not roll in additional sugar. This is a keeper.
