Fisherman Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
Thought this was delicious. I would definitely more finely chop the almonds next time, because they seemed a bit hard. Since I had also added 1/2 cup raw rice, I kept thinking I was eating raw rice when I got to the almonds. I added a sprinkle or two of Cajun spice, and as another reviewer suggested, didn't pre-cook the fish. Just cooked the onion, garlic then added the wet ingredients. Added the fish to the broth about 15 -20 minutes before serving time. It was a hit.

Freezer Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
So simple and so yummy! When tomatoes are in season, I buy baskets and make as many batches of this that I can fit in my freezer. I always peel and seed the tomatoes, which is the only fiddly part of this recipe. I usually add fresh yellow and green beans as well as zucchini to the base recipe, then add frozen peas and/or corn with the potato when I'm ready to serve it. Great with added cooked chicken too! Love love love this one.

So simple and so yummy. This is a keeper. I had a mix of yellow and green beans from the farmer's market on hand, and they turned out beautifully.

Love love love this. The only modification I make is to use a combination of balsamic and red wine vinegar. Staple in my house now.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Fantastic recipe. I don't add any sugar to the salsa, and I tend to add a more tart preserve, and it disappears. It really is addictive!!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
This is my favourite chili recipe ever. Instead of tomato juice, I substitute a 28oz can of tomatoes as many reviewers suggested. We make this in big batches in our slow-cooker and freeze for easy reheats on busy nights.
