My favorite family cooking traditions
Anything Ukrainian/Polish is big with my family...perogies, cabbage rolls, cornmeal, headcheese. It's all good.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at baking a cake when I was 9 years old. I read the instructions and instead of putting 3/4 cup of water, I put in 3 to 4 cups water. (Being so young, I didn't realize the difference) Anyway, intead of chocolate cake, I made a pudding!

Mom's Yummy Onion Casserole
Excellent! I did omit the butter and brown 1/2 lb. seasoned ground beef along with the onions for a complete meal in one! (I also omitted the chips, I had none and instead sprinkled bread crumbs over the cheese)

Spicy English Seven-Layer Salad
WOW! The only change I made was that I used 1 c. light mayo and 1 c. fat free sour cream instead of 2 c. mayo for the dressing. I think I will go back for seconds now! :)

Deer Chop Hurry
I have used this sauce recipe minus the fresh onion for years when baking pork chops or chicken. It never occured to me to try it on deer. THANK YOU! It is sure a nice change from the breaded and fried chops!
