I was born in Taiwan and have been living in the States for more than half of my life. I'm a chemist and living with my husband and a proud slave to a pair of house-rabbits and a cockatiel.
I love to experiment with new recipes and my husband is my taste-tester! Lots of variety of the recipes on this website with very helpful reviews. The dilemma is always should we try a new restaurant or try a new recipe!
My favorite things to cook
Everything! Pasta, chili, stir-fry, bread, cookies...etc. I don't like very sweet desserts, so I love to make my own that I can adjust the sweetness.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, soup is a must for every meal. I love to make soups that are rich and full of complex flavor.
My cooking triumphs
When I bring out the dishes my husband gives the "wooow", "yummmm"...etc to things I have made!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I try to make a coffee flavored cake. I don't drink much coffee and never paid much attention to it. I grabbed the freshly grounded coffee beans instead instant coffee! That cake smelled so good…but...not eatable!
