About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom, with three kids: Ella -4, Jack-2 1/2, and Ari- 9 months. I'm currently just trying to find quick, cheap meals that taste great, are kid friendly, and make great leftovers. Also, dairy-free recipes, as my son has a milk allergy now (hopefully he'll outgrow it soon!) My new goal is to perfect homemade bread without the use of a bread machine, but those recipes are hard to find on this site!
My favorite things to cook
Hands down dessert, specifically cheesecakes. Hearth breads are also up there on my favorites, since they're getting better and better as I learn more and more the right tricks. And, oddly enough, my slow cooker pot roast is a favorite to cook since it's easy, smells great all through the day, and seems rather fancy with it's red wine and thyme.

Portobello Mushroom Burgers
These were easy and so delicious! I didn't even get to let them sit for 15 minutes in the marinade and they were perfect! I can't wait to make them again and top them with roasted red peppers and cheese. Yum!

Hunter Style Chicken
This was okay, it didn't have much flavor, even though I added red pepper flakes. I think keeping the bacon in withe the liquid made it soggy and flavorless, next time I would sprinkle it on top of each serving while it's crispy. I think this recipe has a lot of potential to be great.

Fabulous Wet Burritos
These were okay. I followed the recipe, but my whole family thought the filling was really bland and boring. I think if I did it over, I'd use chicken in a slow cooker with garlic, oil, cumin, chili pepper, salt, and chicken broth and shred it, then add the beans and finish the recipe.
