Sweet Potatoes with Pecans and Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This was really good. I like sweet potatoes with brown sugar, butter and cinnamon, but was looking for something a little different for Thanksgiving dinner today. The sausage was awesome. I used links and cut them into small pieces after cooking. My only mistake was overcooking the sweet potatoes. It turned out to be more like a casserole than sweet potato chunks, but the taste was just as awesome. Thanks for the recipe!

Excellent cookies. I am not a huge fan of ginger but wanted something different. These were the ticket! Very good!

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
These are very good. I made mini muffins because I wanted fewer calories per serving, and it's easy to pack a couple in my lunch each day. Will make these again!

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I've made a similar version of these. I added bacon bits, thinly sliced green onion, and some shredded cheddar cheese. You can add whatever ingredients you like. It's a simple way to change up the potato serving!

Dijon-Dill Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Oh my goodness! I just tried this recipe and it's fabulous! I like brussels sprouts plain or with a small amount of salt and pepper. But I wanted to come up with something a little different in anticipation of Thanksgiving. I was very leary of the ingredients, but decided to try it anyway and I am so glad I did. Very nice flavor, nothing overwhelming and a great change. Thank you!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Very nice! I grew tired of pumpkin pie several years ago. But when I saw this, I had to try it and I'm glad I did. The topping is excellent and the pumpkin filling is very good. I didn't need whipped cream or ice cream for mine! And my family loved it too!

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This dish is very good. And cooking the acorn squash to peel the skin is great! The only change I will make in the future is to use a sweeter apple. Other than that, I enjoyed this very much as did my husband who is not a big fan of squash.

Orange Tapioca Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Awesome! I made this for a holiday dinner as my family is not really in to cranberry salads. It was a big hit. This can be made year around as it will fit in with just about any menu; and both kids and adults like it!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
O.K., with this many ratings no one will probably ever read this one. But just have to say, this recipe was great! We have an ongoing competition in our house to see who can make the best meatloaf. My husband was having a hard time conceding last night even after I found him eating this for a 'midnight snack'. Made the recipe exactly as is, no variations and it is awesome!!

Spicy Crispy Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This dish is awesome! My first thought was that it was too much work and time to prepare, but then I tasted it, and it's worth the time! A lot of the prep can be done beforehand so the next time I make it I will plan accordingly. Definitely a great recipe with great flavor!

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
O.K. There are so many reviews that you don't need my input, but I just have to comment on how wonderful these rolls are. I love yeast rolls but seldom plan well to start early enough to have them ready in time for dinner. These are absolutely awesome. My husband ate two and wanted a third. I will make these again and again. Thanks!

Alfredo Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
These were really good. I thought I had alfredo sauce but it turned out to be parmesan basil; but I am giving this a five star rating anyway. I've made stuffed potatoes before and they did not turn out nearly as good as these did. Good recipe!

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
This recipe sounded really good to me, not sure about the rest of the family, but I was willing to give it a try. OMG, my Husband and Son were fighting over who was getting the last ones! It is very good and we all really liked it. A nice 'something different' for sweet potatoes. I'll be making this one again.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
This was very good. I never would have thought to make chicken and dumplings in the crock pot but this was better than any I've ever made. I made a few changes only because of the ingredients I had on hand, and we like dishes seasoned. Used only one can of chicken soup, and one container of turkey gravy. Added chicken broth in small amounts as needed. I put the chicken breasts in frozen, added celery and carrots and two cloves garlic. Also added cumin and sage. I used one can of buscuits, cut them in pieces and lightly dusted them with poultry seasoning. Really good. My Husband really liked it!

Darbey Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
OMG!! This is delicious. I only had one loaf of the frozen bread so I adjusted the onion and olive oil accordingly, but left the cheese and Italian seasoning as is. Very, very good!! I don't usually eat a lot of bread but my husband and son do. I could not stop eating this! Great recipe!

Garlic Teriyaki Edamame

I thought this was very good and was close to the edamame served at one of my favorite Sushi restaurants. I don't know that I will make changes the next time I fix it - and I WILL be making it again!!

Pumpkin French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
This is fabulous! The flavor is very good, and it is not overly sweet. And it isn't mushy. This reminds me more of bread pudding which I love. The only substitution I made was the bread, as I did not have Texas toast. Instead I used cinnamon raisin bagel thins, which seems like an odd substitution, but it tastes great!! Defintitely will make this again!
