Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This crust comes out perfect everytime. You don't have to chill the dough if you don't have time it rolls out just as easy and cooks the same. An easy tip if you don't feel like using a pastry cutter is to use very well chilled butter and grating directly into your flour with a cheese grater(the larger side) then just stir together. It works great.

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
The flavor was good but the texture with all that chunky tapioca was not appealing. Next time I'll try a recipe with cornstarch or flour. Use the recipe "Butter flaky pie crust" its delicious.

Orange Pumpkin Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
very good. never heard of using the whole orange before, but turned out very nice. I used whole wheat flour, and 4 egg whites to make a little healthier. this is great for breakfast, you get vitamin A, vitamin c, protein and fiber.

Mom's Island Treasures

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
my new favorite cookie, and I LOVE cookies.I did toast my pecans before adding to the mix. Toasting adds a great flavor and takes only about 7 minutes just chop them up and spread them on a cookie sheet at 350-375. I can't say it enough, great cookies.

really good I followed the advice of another reviewer and cooked it on the regular bread setting and it came out much better than using the whole wheat setting.

the best pancakes ever. I've made these about a dozen times now. I usually use vegetable oil instead of melted shortening, comes out the same just easier.

Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
If you really want the flour to stick first roll the chicken in flour, then dip in a mixture of whisked egg white with 1/4 cup of water, then roll in flour mix again. I like a little season all salt in the flour. you can really make this recipe your own by adding your favorite spices kinda plain w/out

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
this is pretty good in the original recipe but a few changes make it a lot better. AND A LOT LESS FATTENING. Definitely shred the chicken, i used chicken i had precooked and added after adding the cream and milk no need to saute the chicken. I added half of a red bell pepper and sauteed it with the onion and garlic in ONLY 1TBS OF BUTTER to the butter and onion mix stir in 1tbs of flour. stir in 1 CUP NONFAT MILK and 1 CUP HALF AND HALF till slightly thickened. If you use sharp cheddar you can get away with only using 1 CUP OF CHEESE(mex blend is good too) and sprinkle with cheese when served. And definitely needed more cumin I used 2 tsp. and doubled the garlic. Adding a can of whole corn is good too. leave out the tomato

Spring Lime Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
These were really good nice and light. Really fresh. I ran out of lime and lemon for the icing so I didn't use icing and my picky 5yr old still loved them. I did need to cook them about 3 minutes more than the recipe called for. I used key limes.

These are really good just as is, but sometimes in addition to the blueberries I dice up 1 apple usually something tart like a granny smith just to change it up if you eat them a lot.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
The recipe was very good, but I felt it was missing something. I added a tablespoon of chicken boullioun and it seemed to fix it for me.
