I feed the hungry. The hungry husband, kids, family, friends, neighbours. Pretty much anyone who will eat, I will feed. By the time I was 9 years old, I could make a meal for any time of day, by myself. Baking never scared me either. I just have always liked to cook, and my mommy let me. She is a great cook. She can make awsome meatloaf. Whitch, is strange because she dosen't eat it, and never has. Her taste testing some of her great dishes is not always an option. Over the years she has gotten a little less picky about what she eats, but she is still pickier than most. I am working on a family cook book. It is slow comming because, Both of us do most of our cooking by memory, guessing, and eyeballing it. Wish me luck. I do have family and friends helping me, so it will come along eventually.
My cooking triumphs
Funds for food is not always been easy to come by. In many years of cooking, I have had to figured out how to feed aolt with a little. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, can go a long way. A single lb. of hamburger has been known to feed up to 20 people. Pinto beans can be a differant meal every day, for the better part of a week. I'm not into fancy food. My cake (or whatever) may not always be the prettiest, but it will taste good. Pretty food is all fine and good, but if it looks great and don't taste so good, you have wasted time and money.
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes, I get brain freeze and have no idea's on what to make. If someone can give me an idea, I'm generally good to go. I have a really hard time cooking for only a few. Feeding only my husband and myself, is my pesonal nightmare!
