No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
This was really good. Next time I will use more veggies and double the "sauce" portion. I also realized after the fact that I used a 16oz pasta when it calls for 12oz, so I'd double the sauce for 16oz of pasta.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
The pineapple was fine, but the chicken had the weirdest consistency. I was sad I tried this recipe on guests! I noticed now that one person wondered if the pineapple and chicken shouldn't be marinated together...

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
This was very good. Using the full amount of butter was way too greasy for me. The second time, I used maybe 1/2 T. butter and some olive oil, and it was much better.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This was pretty good. A little mushy, but I don't know if my brown rice could have contributed to it? I didn't have white rice.

Italian-Style Swiss Chard

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This was probably the saltiest thing I've ever tasted. That said, it would be great with less salt. I think we'll make it again and severely reduce the salt.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
I had only had one bite of rhubarb in my life before I made this pie. It was great! I omitted (forgot?) the butter on top of the fruit, and it was fine.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
This tasted great! I'm at high altitude, and it came out really tall with huge air pockets inside, so it was a bit hard to deal with, but the taste made up for it.

Tahini Spinach

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I reduced the vinegar, as suggested, but it was way too tart for me. It made me make a terrible sour face! I couldn't finish it, but my husband liked it ok.

Skinny Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Great! This was my first time to make scalloped potatoes, and they went over well. I grated parmesan over each layer.

Ghirardelli® Dark Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
These were really good. It makes 16 cupcakes in paper liners for me. The frosting seemed like it wouldn't be enough since I wanted to pipe it, so I added confectioner's sugar. I kept adding more and more (1/2 a big bag) to get it to a decent consistency. Then I had too much of course. It would probably be good to either let the frosting sit as described or use a different frosting recipe.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
I used chicken and frozen spinach instead, and added some rice as I only had 2 smallish potatoes. It was tasty. It's a pretty generous 4 servings for sure!

Pretty good. I added a little extra flour and buttermilk b/c of altitude.

Curried Wild Rice and Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This was pretty good, but the orange juice was way too apparent. I would use less if we make it again.

This was tasty. I made it with extra potatoes and less milk, as suggested. I also substituted other things for the salt items, as suggested.
