I started cooking on Saturdays when I was a teenager - one of my chores was to make homemade cookies every week for my father.
My favorite things to cook
Savory foods more so than sweets. Soups, traditional meals and sides, gourmet, slow cooking, roasting. I make my own sauces - a can of soup scares me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking together as a family, enjoying a glass of wine together while chopping vegetables and talking.
My cooking triumphs
Passover dinner for my husband's family - even had chopped liver made with schmaltz - I made both! Coq Au Vin is my favorite - a 2 day recipe. I love to take a good recipe and make it better - add a spice or herb....
My cooking tragedies
Diet eggplant parmesan. Cheese didn't melt. I made my DH try it first - yes I was that afriad to try it. We didn't eat it - went out. What did I learn? Make it right and enjoy in moderation.

Pizza Dough III
Just made this pizza dough recipe and it's very good - will definitely be a go to recipe. I mixed by hand and added just a bit more flour as I was forming the ball. I did a cold fermentation in the refrigerator overnight for a breakfast pizza. Oven 525 with a stone and a bit of cornmeal on peel. Was the easiest dough to roll out that I have ever made. Baked up beautifully and everyone enjoyed.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches
Easy, delicious and easily adaptable to tweaks here and there if a change up is desired! Thanks for a great recipe!

Orzo and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese
Made as described except for using 1 1/2 tsp dried dill as that is what I had on had. Delicious. Watch adding salt as olives and feta already are salty tasting. I think it would be great with some large boiled shrimp added in!
