Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Easy and delicious!!! I used a wheat berry beer, and it was a little too sweet, so next time I will adjust the sugar accordiningly. (Made for an awesome French toast, though!) Can't wait to make this again!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I loved this recipe!!! I was shocked, since I don't really care for ranch. Try adding caramelized onions and replacing the teriyaki with a hickory barbecue sauce for a different yet just as delish dish!

Squash Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
This was absolutely fantastic!! I followed the advice of others and seasoned my flour (whole wheat flour--healthier and aided in the coloring) with a little Cajun seasoning and some garlic powder. I had some zucchini I needed to use, so I threw that in the pan with the squash. The veggies were looking a little dry but the onions still needed to soften, so I added a tablespoon or two of red wine I had in the fridge. It gave it a burst of flavor! Also, I totally agree with the person who said it was easier to stuff the chicken after browning it. It was easier to cut into the meat AND I didn't lose any stuffing. This is definitely in my rotation of recipes!!!

Upside Down Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
I only used 1 1/2 cups of sugar in the filling, as it tasted sweet enough to me while I was making it. You definitely want to let this cool for a couple of hours before you cut into it. That gives it plenty of time to solidify. Try adding a light dusting of brown sugar/cinnamon over the pecans before you pour the butter. So, so good!!!!! A definite keeper.

Strawberry Refrigerator Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2007
I've been searching for this forever! My friend's mother made this for us, and I fell in love with it. So refreshing on a warm day. Try putting fresh peach slices on top to add a tartness or a blueberry/strawberry mix for a 4th of July/Memorial Day gathering

Easy Cheesy Potatoes

One of my friends made this a couple of years ago. Since then, the five of us who were present have taken this to each and every barbeque. The recipe has spread like wild fire!!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
These rolls are simple and delicious!! So flexible! I made some as dinner rolls and some as garlic bread sticks. Today, I made them as sausage kolaches. (Cut a half cup of butter flavored shortening into the flour mixture to make the rolls flaky.) Wonderful! My new favorite roll recipe!!

Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
This was an okay roll. The dough was very easy to work with, although I did have to add a little flour to ease the stickiness. It smelled really, really yeasty, and I got worried, but the flavor was okay. Everyone seemed to like it just fine. Good for first timers!

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
The bread never rose!! I expected this bread to be lighter based on the ingredients. Instead, it's quite dense. But the flavor is amazing. It wasn't what I was looking for at the moment, but definitely something I will make again. I'm thinking of leaving out the yeast and just doing it as a quick bread next time.
