Apple Honey Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
This is a great recipe. I didn't have allspice so I substituted 1/2 tbsp nutmeg..it was delicious. I used 2 red delicious apples and one granny smith. I used my hand grater and used the largest part of the shredder. I noticed that the granny smith stays white and produces more juice, while the red turned browm, even after sprinkling w a little lemon juice..really makes no difference, looks the same when done. I also made this a second time with 1/2 c chopped walnuts. the cake came out bigger..I am not that fond of nuts, but the people that were loved it. I think it is moister without the nuts!

Sweet Potato Casserole VI

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
I brought this to a pre-thanksgiving potluck at work and it was very well received. It tastes great warm or cold. My hausband ate it cold w whipped cream...I also cut the white sugar to 1/2 cup, and I just about doubled the topping and it was perfect..you can use a little less brown sugar too, about 3/4 cup, and 3/4 cup pecans will do it..unless you like more...also drizzled 3-4 tsps of maple syrup on top..makes it sweeter and had a nice taste!

This was very good..I made it for 2 people and it came out good, though the milk made it look a bit funny. I don't know what to sub for it though...tasted really good when it was cold a few days later

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
My husband and I enjoyed this stew. I made it according to Corine's suggestions, but had no wine at the time, so left that out. I couldn't find any reviews that said how long it was actually cooked. I cooked mine on high for 5 1/2 hours. I also put the vegetables on the bottom from a suggestion on another website that veggies always take longer. The only problem I had was that I could have added more liquid. I used 1 can beef stock. Next time I think I would add 1/2 cup water or maybe the wine would do it...

Broccoli and Cauliflower Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I made changes to this recipe and everyone loved it at Thanksgiving. I used an 18oz can of Campbells Creamy Chicken and Dumpling Soup instead of the can of condensed cream of chicken soup. I used about 14oz, but can use the whole can. 1 cup of rice, 2 tbsp butter, 3/4 lb grated cheddar, 4 oz 2% milk poured over top before baking and 1 cup keebler club crackers crushed over top. I also added salt and pepper to the top before adding the crackers. Very good!

Apple Streusel Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
This is a delicious, different type of cobbler. I love it, but I must say it is sweet! I made it New Year's eve. I served it the day after New Years. My guests thought it was a bit mushy. I wondered if maybe I shouldn't have refigerated it. Now, I am eating another piece almost a week later, kept it covered in the fridge in the casserole, and it is delicious, very soft, sweet, cinnamony and nutty. I think my guests are used to the traditional apple crisp and didn't give this one the chance it deserved.

Matzo Brei

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
try this with lox and onion. Break up small pieces of nova scotia lox and saute onion in butter or just add to the egg mixture if you like. I run the matzoh over warm water very fast. Use 2-3 pieces and 1-2 eggs for 2 ppl. Delicious!

Chicken with Lemon Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
This recipe is absouletly delicious! I cooked in twice in a week, and could make it again this week as I made extra sauce. The only change I made was that I used 1/2 of the grated cheese called for. For some reason the second time the sauce came out thinner, but was just as delicious. Fabulous!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
Absoultey delicious. I didn't change a thing, except I used a little less sugar and more flour. I used margarine not butter, and this makes the topping softer, so I had to alter that part. You can experiment. I don't like my topping too sweet. Delicious!!
