Cream Cheese Frosting II

This is a 5 star recipe as long as you add 3 cups confectioners sugar instead of two. Perfect sweetness and cream cheese combo. I made this frosting for a baby shower cake and tinted it ivory. It spread nicely and held up well after being refrigerated overnight and then set out at room temperature for a few hours. People complimented the frosting over and over. I also layered the cake with this frosting in between layers and it was so tasty!

Cinnamon Rolls II

These were delicious. I used 8 ounces of cream cheese as others suggested. It was perfect. I also used half light and half dark brown sugar because that's all I had on hand. I had some tightly packed in one pan and just a few spread out in my second one. The packed ones came out moist and delicious and the others were hard on the outside and burnt a little on the bottom. Next time I'll make sure I have enough to tightly pack both pans. I added extra filling and next time I'll add more cinnamon too. I also spread melted butter on the tops halfway through baking and they came out wonderful!

Strawberry Fruit Dip

This was delicious. I love strawberries but can't stand their tartness so I thought I'd give this dip a try. It was perfect. Not too sweet. Easy to dip when cool, not cold. Mine turned out nice, light and fluffy. I didn't refrigerate it before eating. I will definitely use this dip again and again and try it with plain cream cheese as well!

Salisbury Steak

This rating is based on other reviewers changes. Absolutely delicious! I omitted the ketchup, added a can of cream of mushroom, a Lipton onion soup packet and doubled the sauce for my garlic mashed potatoes. I used italian bread crumbs because that's all I had on hand. It was very oniony which we loved. I browned it in the skillet and placed in a foil lined casserole dish, drizzled with sauce and covered with foil. Baked at 400 for about 25-30 min. It came out absolutely perfect! My entire family enjoyed it. Even my picky 7 year old daughter. My husband told me to keep the recipe forever.

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

YUM!!! This is what I've been looking for. An old fashioned recipe with no corn syrup, aspartame, etc. I actually upped it to 8 lemons with 7 cups of water and 1 cup sugar. I like mine sour :) The tip to microwave them after rolling them on the counter was great. Nothing tops homemade lemonade.

Dorm Room Chili Mac

I was short on time and wanted to make my kids something so I found this. They love it and so do I! Super easy and super quick. Hearty enough to be dinner. I used Hormel no bean chili, shredded cheddar and Kraft mac n cheese. Yum!!

Shepherd's Pie VI

My daughter loves this! I changed it up a bit like others suggested. I added the 1/4 Worcestershire sauce to the meat, didn't have beef broth so I added 1 bullion cube and a cup of water and about 1 tbsp of seasoning salt. I used 1 bag of Birds Eye frozen mixed veggies. I didn't have onion so I added green onions with the cheddar on top of the potatoes. I added about a half cup of sour cream and a tbsp of seasoning salt to my potatoes as well. Delicious!

Quick and Spicy Chili

This was delicious! I had to tweak it a bit for the ingredients I had on hand. I used 1 can kidney beans and 1 can black beans. I only used 3 tbsp of chili powder. I used a yellow onion instead of red. I cut out the flour and peppers. I used garlic powder instead of whole garlic and frozen corn instead of canned. Also, I added 1 can of stewed tomatoes because I am a tomato freak. It turned out so perfect! This is my new go to chili recipe.

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

These were pretty good. I didn't have butterscotch chips so I just used extra semi-sweet chocolate chips. I'm sure it would be very tasty with the butterscotch. As mentioned, these are not good warm. I popped mine in the fridge after they cooled a little and tried them chilled. Very good. Will try again with butterscotch chips!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

WOW! This is a new staple in my cook book. I used bone-in pork chops & chicken broth instead of water. I took the chops out after the 20 min. simmer and added corn starch to the onions to thicken it up. It was absolutely delicious. Even my toddler and 5 year old ate every bite!

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

These are AMAZING!! I did make a couple of changes though. I used apple cider vinegar b/c that's all I had on hand. I added 3/4 cup of sugar and about 1/4 - 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the batter to sweeten it. They came out wonderfully. Next time I will probably make more filling, b/c I made 24 cupcakes and only had enough filling for about 20. I had some batter left over too and probably could have made more if I had more filling.

Hot Chicken Salad II

This is great! I did make a few changes though. I used Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise (personal preference). I omitted the mushrooms and water chestnuts. As others suggested I used 3/4 cup shredded cheddar, 4 oz. of cream cheese, about a tsp. each of parsley, basil, garlic salt, pepper, salt. I used italian bread crumbs instead of crackers because I was out of crackers. I also added about a 1/3 cup of diced red bell pepper and onion which gave it a great zip! I cooked the bell pepper, celery, and onion together to soften up the veggies before going in the oven. It turned out great!

Italian Chicken

My husband and kids loved this recipe! I did as the others and put the chicken in a ziploc bag and let it sit for a few hours. I also added some italian bread crumbs and garlic powder to the cheese. Yum! I poured the marinade over the cooked chicken before serving, and used some extra for dipping.

Cream Cheese Cookies III

These weren't at all cookies, but were very good. I added white baking chocolate to the the cream cheese mixture and chocolate chips on top. The white chocolate was great but I think I'll leave out the chocolate chips next time. Yummy!

Chocolate Orange Cookies

These cookies were amazing! My husband and daughter ate them up! I followed the others advice and added a bit more flour, used cocoa powder, and divided them into two logs (which I refrigerated), and they came out wonderful! Very easy to make.
