Apple Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Enjoyed this very much. I baked this in my bread machine using the quick bread setting. It came out great! I omitted the walnuts (since I am allergic) and increased the raisins to 1/2 cup. I also doubled the amount of apples. I used 3 granny smith apples and chopped them up instead of grating them. I put everything in the bread machine in the following order ~ Eggs, milk, and oil on the bottom. I mixed all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl and then added those on top of the liquid. Last I added the apples and raisins. Came out very moist. 12 generous servings = 3 WW points.

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
So wonderful! I am on the Weight Watchers diet plan and was happy to find out that this recipe is WW friendly. I cooked this in the crock pot for about 5 hours on low. It turned out wonderfully. I used a Cabernet wine. I sauteed fresh mushrooms with onions and garlic in the olive oil then placed them in the crock pot. I also browned the meat before putting it in the crock pot. I did follow the advice of others and added some tomato paste to thicken it up as well as 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar. Served over egg noodles. My husband had 4th's! This will be going into the regular rotation. Thanks so much!

Salmon with Tomatoes

Excellent! I substituted pasta for the rice, other than that I followed the recipe to a T. Served with garlic bread and a salad. This will be served at my next dinner party.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
Perfect! I followed the ingredients in the recipe to a T. I followed the advice of others and made sure the cream cheese was at room temperature. I also used a round pyrex dish and ended up with two layers. I used a whole box of vanilla waferS. I also placed cookies up the side of the dish for presentation. The best Banana pudding I have ever had. Even the husband loved it and he was very skeptical at first, he went back for a second bowl. This is a keeper! I plan on making it as the dessert for my twin girls 1st birthday party.

White Cake Frosting I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
This was sooo good! This was my first time making home made frosting and I will never use the store bought kind again. I did change a few tiny things per suggestions of others. I substituted 1/4 cup of the shortening for 1/4 cup butter. I also used almond extract instead of the vanilla. It did yield a lot of frosting and I only used about half of the amount to put on top of a bundt cake. I wanted to just glaze the cake with the frosting, so I took half of the frosting and put in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Once it came out I gave it a quick stir with a fork and then poured it over the top of the cake. It came out beautifully and tasted as good as it looked.
