Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
Make it a 6 star by adding 3 tbsp of rice wine vinegar, and a can of chopped water chestnuts. I used less chicken so we ended up with the perfect amount of sauce for the two of us.

Black Bean Salad

please, please, please trust me.... add a chopped mango! you'll never regret it! it just adds a nice bit of sweetness with the spice. I've also added a peach but mango is better! add some red onion too! chopped cilanto finishes it off nicely!

Atomic Canuck Chili

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Really Good!Buti I may be partial being canadian myself! One trick which will make this a 6 star is to add about 1/2 dozen ribs and when the meat falls away remove the bone. Also I've used maple flavoured beans baked beans, and left the sugar out.. OUTSTANDING! and how much more canadian can you get with the maple flavour eh?

These were pretty good, I think that if I make them again I will add some cinnamon or orange zest to give them a bit more flavour

Very Good! I used green onions instead of regular onions, and used 1/3 of each kind of vinegar: white, white balsamic and cidar... they just have more flavour. I made it for a shower and everyone loved it! I'm making it agian for easter this weekend.

I actually topped them with fresh raspberries and the flavours whent together perfectly! My grandma told me to call her the next time I make them so we can do it together.

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
I made this twice, the first time I followed the recipe to a T, but I found it kinda of oily, and the texture a little off, so the second time I made it I substituted the 1 1/2 cups of oil for 1 cup of non-sweetened apple sauce and 1/2 cup oil. The texture was perfect and it was easier to cut too. Also I used some spenda with the sugar to cut some calories and used lowfat cream cheese for the icing. The second time around I'd give it 5 stars!
