Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I made these for a United Way bake sale at work. They went quickly and everyone loved them. The first batch were in the oven for 1:30mins and they were too soft and the second batch was in for 1mins and were much firmer. I'm making them again for a party tonight and I'm going to try 1:15mins. I can't wait!

Herbed Lentils and Rice

I really enjoyed this recipe. It was filling and yummy. Unfortunately, the rest of my family didn't appreciate what it had to offer. This is the third time I make it. I'm going to add some peas or corn this time. Thank you!

Creamy Italian White Bean Soup

What a simple yet delicious soup. I only used one can of white kidney beans and 1 cup of water and forgot the garlic (I know, how do you forget garlic!). It is fabulous! Thank you!

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Oh man, Oh man!! These are really good and unfortunately couldn't make them like I was suposed to due to lack of ingredients. I can just imagine how yummy these are done correctly. This is what I did. 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 shortening. 1 cup coconut and 1 cup chocolate chips. The remaining ingredients stayed the same.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

I love the flavors of this rub. I didn't have any onion powder so I used mustard powder and I omitted the cayenne cus I didn't have any. This was wonderful. I overcooked it, trying to get medium well and I forgot about it. It was still delicious. Thank you!

Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
I'm always happy when whole wheat cookies recipes turns out good. I used 2 cups whole wheat flour and 3/4 cup all purpose flour, two whole eggs (by accident), added a bit of cin to the batter and only used sugar to coat the cookies before baking. I made regular snickerdoodles for the first time last week and the kids loved them. These are just as good and so much better for them.

Zucchini Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Wow, what a great soup. I cut the recipe in half but still used a full can of lower fat cream of chicken (all I had). I didn't use the chicken bouillon and it turned out perfect. I added a bit more salt but overall a very easy and yummy soup that me and my kids loved. Thank you.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

These were good but I found I had an after taste in my mouth after eating one. I don't know if it's because of the shortening. Next time I will try using butter instead. Will definetely try again.

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I'm not a big cream of mushroom fan but this was good. My kids loved it which is rare because they normally only like butter sauces on noodles or pasta. I also used dry egg noodles. I boiled them for 6 minutes in salted water before added them to the sauce (it was ready to eat in no time). I didn't use any chicken because I didn't have any and I didn't add any salt. By omitting the chicken, this makes for a great side dish as well. Thanks, will make again.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
These cookies are so good! The whole batch in gone in less than 2 days at my house. When I make them, I make half with chocolate chips and the other half without to satisfy both of my kids. I don't put any icing on them as they are perfect without it. This is a keeper. Update: made yet another batch and followed a review by substituting 1 cup whole wheat flour for the all purpose and I can't believe how good they still are. Only now, they are a little more healthy. They are still amazingly soft and yummy. I may try using more whole wheat the next time and increase the pumpkin.

Instead of frying I tried baking them to save on calories. They were good but I would imagine they would be so much better fried. Thank you for the recipe. I will try again and I will actually fry them the next time.

I'm going to give this recipe 5 stars even if mine turned out too salty. Maybe my batch of cajun spice had extra salt in it. It was still amazing and would definetely make again but without the additional 1/4tsp salt.
