Viennese Torte

Made this for my brother-in-law's birthday, since he and my husband spent several childhood years in Vienna. Both of them loved it. I had problems with enough cake batter and rising high enough, but I think that's because I didn't cream the butter and sugar long enough. I suspect I will make this again, perhaps for my husband's birthday. Thanks for a good recipe!

The Best Slow Cooker Cream Corn

Mushroom Pie

My husband enjoyed this very much. I added spinach, which he loves and which I don't, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have without the spinach, but I will definitely save this one. I ended up making it with canned mushrooms as my husband misunderstood my grocery list, and I used a refrigerated pie shell instead of puff pastry, but everything came out fine.

Spicy Brussels Sprouts and Carrots

These were interesting, but I'm not sure I'll make them again. My problem was mainly the brussels sprouts--they had such a strong flavor that it seemed to me that they needed something sweet to offset it. The carrot portion tasted better to me. I used frozen baby brussels sprouts and didn't halve them--don't know if that made a difference. Anyway, thanks for the recipe--the final dish did look pretty appetizing and someone who really likes brussels sprouts might enjoy this.
