Cinnamon Stars

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
This was awful... Just aweful, Everything about it. I had a terrible time making the dough. The egg whites became thin and gooey, dough stuck to everything. I tried chilling the dough to make it easier to work with, which helped a little. Used the recommended star cookie cutter, but when the cookies baked they became all deformed. After baking they stuck to the parchment paper and broke into a million pieces. I literally threw away the whole batch, which killed me because of how much I spent on the ingredients! I would have ate the pieces if they tasted good, but I wasn't even satisfied with the taste. I will NEVER make these again, and I caution anyone who is contemplating making them! I have no idea why these have such good ratings and populatity!

Cream Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
This is a very basic recipe with basic, classic ingredients. The cookies were delicious. The best way to describe them is like small bites of homemade pie crust. I did not ice mine, but I did dip them in a larger-crystal sugar (Sugar in the Raw) before baking them. If you use quality ingredients you should love these. They are not for those who prefer a sweeter tasting cookie.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
I consider myself a pretty good baker. I rarely have difficulty with a recipe. But let me tell you - these were hard to make. Definitely tested my patience. I tried what some reviewers had said and froze the dough for a little while before rolling it. Even after that the dough was hard to roll out. Dipping the balls? Forget it! Chocolate everywhere, and they looked like they were made by a 5 year old. When I finally had some ready that appeared edible (maybe 1/2 of the batch), I decided to try one of the "rejects" I had put to the side. After all that trouble, the cookie was WAY too sweet. The rest of the family felt the same way. Yuck! The difficult time I had making these combined with the overly sweet taste make this recipe OFF the Christmas cookie list for next year! Just thought you all needed an honest review and a 'heads up' to anyone thinking of trying them. I'm not sure why this recipe has such high ratings.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
Excellent... Really no need to change the recipe at all! Sometimes boneless pork ribs are hard to find, but any kind of pork roast can be used (I find boneless pork ribs do come the best though).

Easy Tomato Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Very delicious recipe and easy to prepare! I did make some additions - I added one can of diced potatoes, one can of corn, few dashes of Old Bay, and one can of small shrimp. I also did increase the garlic to about 3 cloves and added slightly more 1/2 and 1/2 than called for. Turned out perfect!
