Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles II

Great! I did add about 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg to the batter and that jazzed up the cookie quite a bit.

Pie Crust III

This is so easy. The cold water does need to be very cold. The key is to not over handle the dough. This recipe can be frozen and used at a later time. I also refrigerated overnight and got good results. I love being able to use canola rather than butter or shortening. I also love the ease of just pushing into the pie pan rather than rolling out. When I do roll out, I find it is easiest to roll out between to pieces of plastic wrap. This is definitely a keeper.

Chocolate Cobbler

I made this twice. The first time I made the mistake of not using self rising flour. It tasted fin but looked terrible. The second time I added salt and baking powder to the flour and it turned out perfect! I was curious if the cobbler could be made ahead of time and then heated through again, if it would still be good. It was wonderful made ahead as well.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

This is my new gold standard recipe. I slice it thick for toast or thin for sandwiches. I can't buy individual portions of yeast, so one package of yeast is 2.5 tsp. I mix everything in my bread maker on the dough cycle. Then I put the dough into a bread pan and bake in a 375F (190C) oven for 30 minutes. I have made nearly a dozen loaves with this recipe and it has been perfect each time!

Tofu Lasagna

This is definitely a keeper. I did freeze the tofu which helps the tofu to be firmer. I used an extra cup of sauce and did not use the milk at all. I also threw in a cup of ricotta (which I can't really get, so I really used a cup of cottage cheese), and the family said they couldn't tell that it had no meat.

Cinnamon Bread I

I doubled the recipe so that I could serve one and freeze one. I also doubled the topping amount again, so that I could put some in the middle and some over the top. The cinnamon smell and taste was wonderful.

Creamy Spinach Soup

I cannot get any half and half where I live, so I used 7/8 cup milk and 7/8Tbs of butter per cup of half and half required by the recipe. I also pureed the soup. It was excellent! My 2 year old asked for 2nd's, 3rd's, and 4th's! My picky non-soup eating 7 year old said it was the best soup he has ever eaten. My husband and I both loved it. This is a keeper for sure.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a really good cookie. I followed the recipe exactly but did not add the nuts since I was serving to small children. I did not find the recipe runny, nor did I find the cookie overly cake-like. Out of four people in my house, this cookie gets eight thumbs up! We will use this one again.

Evacuation Tuna & Pasta Salad

I was looking for a tuna and pasta salad recipe. I came across this recipe the day after a large earthquake struck us. The title caught my eye and I had to try it. My husband and I really enjoyed this. I can't get lima beans, but I used boiled soybeans instead, and it was really good. I also used try colored elbow macaroni for more color. I plan on using this for a pitch in sometime.

Best White Icing Ever

I was in a pinch with my frosting situation, when I came across this recipe. I was able to make up the frosting and frost the cake in less than 20 minutes. It is not just quick, it tastes great too!

Fluffy Cake Doughnuts

Just right for a doughnut that is baked! It has a nice flavor. I have tried the chocolate iced and the almond iced. I used less of the almond flavoring, but both turned out very tasty. Tastes so much more wholesome than the deep-fried counterparts.

Great! I also took the suggestion of putting it in the over for a few minutes. It worked out well. I used dried blueberries, and it was very delicious.
