About this Cook
Until recently, I've always found cooking to be a chore. My husband has taken an interest in cooking some of the meals which has ignited a passion in me to try out new things. I love to read through cookbooks, and have quite a collection, but had no real desire to try anything new. That has changed, and I absolutely LOVE allrecipes.com!
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian! I also enjoy cooking breakfast for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I've been doing it for the past 15 years or so, and it is my favorite holiday too. Food, football and family!
My cooking triumphs
Wow, good question. I cook the best eggs in the house, hands down. My 17 year old son, is a really close second though. I've taught him well. =O)
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I were dating I attempted to make lasagna like his mama and it was horrible! The garlic was in chunks, and when you cut a slice out of the pan, it filled up with liquid! It was awful, but I've redeemed myself a few years back. I vowed to never make it again, but decided it was time to give it another try. It wasn't quite as good as his mamas, but it was certainly better than that first time so many years ago.

Sesame Udon Noodles
Absolutely delicious! A stumbled upon this recipe looking for a way to use up some leftover pork tenderloin, and this fit perfectly. I only added 2 ingredients to the recipe as written, the pork and mushrooms and I used dried udon noodles. Talk about flavor....wow! Added a picture too, it was so pretty to look at as well. I will make again and again.

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers
Delicious! Added to burger as a spread, didn't want to risk not getting the meat pinched tight enough. Can't leave out the bacon either, adds a nice smoky touch.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos
I might not want them every night, but I definitely want them once a week! Perfect for meatless Monday...OMG they are so good!!! I love the spice and the creaminess. I doubled the recipe and was able to get 6 good sized burritos out of it. I think I need to quadruple the recipe next week so that I can freeze some for lunch at work. I am going to take my Spanish friend one, I'm sure she is going to love it! Thanks Jessie. =)
