Caramelized Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2013
Loved it! Watching calories so skipped the butter and sour cream but did add the honey. Also added 4 carrots which took a little longer to soften enough to run it through food processor. Added cinnamon as well. Delicious!

Million Dollar Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This fudge was so easy to make. I omitted the nuts because I don't care for them in fudge. Other than that I changed nothing. I had to work quickly to get it into the pan as it started to set right away. Delicious!

Christmas Wreaths

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
No other recipe brings back as many memories of Christmas for me as this one. Be careful when forming the wreaths, the mixture will be hot. It is helpful to have someone to place the red hots and bows. If you try to put the red hots and bows on with buttered fingers they won't stick, but if you wait too long to place them on, the wreaths will harden and they also won't stick. I make bows from the Pull and Peel Twizzlers. Make the bows up ahead of time. Just form them into a bow and press together. They will hold their shape.

Cornmeal Molasses Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
I didn't change a thing and it came out great. It had a mildly sweet flavor and the molasses was not overpowering as in other recipes. Was fabulous toasted.

Summer Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
I was skeptical because there is no marinade, but this recipe was light and refreshing. I followed it exactly, except that I could not find the yellow pear tomatoes, so just substitued red. It was quick to make and a nice change to have the pure taste of the tomatoes not smothered in a lot of oil.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
I let it marinade overnight and kept some honey mustard separate for basting. It was very good.

Korean Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
I got this recipe about 20 years ago from my mother-in-law. I always make it for summer get-togethers. Lately I have been substituting pre-cooked bacon (it's so easy-just heat in the microwave until crispy). I recommend serving the dressing on the side. That way you can refrigerate any left-overs without the spinach getting soggy.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
This is the best banana bread recipe I have ever found and I have tried a lot. I usually don't dust the pans with the cinnamon/sugar mixture because I can't tell the difference without it. Otherwise, don't change a thing. Best if made a day ahead--becomes moister. Freezes great!

Roasted Red Pepper Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
I loved this lasagna! As opposed to other reviewers, I didn't think it was more work than any other lasagna you make from scratch. My one time-saving tip would be to get all your ingredients ready while the peppers are cooling. That way, it really just becomes a matter of throwing everything into a couple of pots. I didn't change anything. It was delicious!

Carrot Ring

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
I would agree that this is a quick bread not a side dish. Came out great though.
