I am a 20-something "corporate world" working gal who enjoys cooking about 3-4 times a week. Cooking is one of my simple joys because it allows me to be creative, be adventurous with trying new flavors and make those around me happy.
My favorite things to cook
I make a variety of dishes with a willingness to experiment on new entrees. My favorite dishes include: roasted potatoes, jambalaya, seafood pasta, pizza and stir-fries.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents incorporate Asian/South American cuisine styles in their cooking. For instance, plantain with sprinkled cinnamon is a family favorite at the dinner table.
My cooking triumphs
Baking (chocolate & walnut cookies, biscottis, brownies). Best ever!
My cooking tragedies
I think my attempt in making Spanish Rice has been one of my most "challenging" dishes. Either the rice is uncooked or too watery. Still haven't mastered it yet - hoping to find a way to make it yummy! Also, any sort of packet rice dishes like Rice-a-Roni; it never turns out right.
