Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I really enjoyed the taste of this recipe. I did make a few tweaks to it when making it yesterday though. I didn't bother browning the meat; I added celery; and I kept about half of the peppers out until the last hour (like other reviewers had mentioned). I also added more cornstarch in that last hour to thicken up the sauce a bit. I found there was a LOT of sauce, so next time, I'll add more peppers and celery, and maybe add carrots and broccoli as well. This recipe is being added to my recipe box.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
wow! I made this salad last night for my office potluck today; mixed the broccoli, onions, raisins and sauce last night, and threw in the bacon, sunflower seeds and some grated cheese just before the potluck - it was AWESOME! I thought I had made a huge amount, but the bowl was one of the first to be emptied. I'll be making this again!

Garbage Can Turkey

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I was at a friend's cottage this summer and her husband made this - when she said we were having garbage can turkey, a few of us looked at each other in trepidation, but it was AWESOME! The turkey was moist and falling off the bone. And what a great way to have a turkey on a summer day without heating up your house.

Chocolate Billionaires

I made these for the first time last for a bake swap at work today. Like others, I made the mistake of forgetting to grease the wax paper, but was able to salvage them. They are YUMMY! We had the swap at lunch time today, and everybody who tried one said they would be surprised if any of these make it home at the end of the day. I will definitely be making these again!

Peanut Butter Candy Blossoms

I agree with most comments, that cutting the Snickers in half works much better. And you still get a good-sized cookie. I made a batch and brought them into the office this morning, and they are quickly disappearing!

Scented Applesauce-Cinnamon Ornaments

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2000
I made 200 of these ornaments as placeholders for my company xmas party, and they were a big hit. I bake mine in a slow oven (175 degrees C) for 2 to 3 hours, and it definitely makes your home smell delicious!

October Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2000
I *loved* this pie! I have never really cared for apple pie before, but this one was fantastic with some whipped cream on top. It disappeared quickly at a dinner party!
