Mom's Custard Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
This pie was wonderful. Very light and creamy. I was looking for an easy pie to make for a church dinner and took a chance on this one. one lady told me it was the best custard pie that she ever tasted. I would make this one again.

Black Forest Dump Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
Great dessert- This is a very good dessert made even better served with cool whip or vanilla ice cream. You have to make sure that you cut the butter very thin and layer it over the cake mix so that the butter is almost touching. (no big chunks) You will get a top that is crisp with almost no cake mix unbaked.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
This is a great casserole. The soup and sour cream make it creamier than most. It was delicious. When I served it I nestled some poached eggs on the top and served it with home made biscuits. Yummy.

Buttermilk Bread I

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
I don't know about other's bread machines but this is definitely too much flour for mine. I used 1/3 cup of whole wheat. I make a lot of bread and you have to have the dough the consistency of soft play dough without being sticky. So you have to go by the feel sometimes instead of how much flour or liquid is called for. But this is a good bread.

Hopi Corn Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
This was a very good soup/stew and the only change I made was to add some cumin, as others have suggested. I also added a small amount of hot pepper to give it a bit of heat. I love the hominy in it and will definitely make this again.

Coconut Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This is one of the best cakes that I have ever made and it's so easy. To make it even easier I baked it in a 9 x 13 pan and used half of the topping ingredients.

The Best Zucchini Fritters Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
This recipe is good. I grate the zucchini instead of chopping. I don't know why the recipe calls for milk tho. The zucchini is naturally moist and the eggs add plenty of liquid. I leave the milk out.

Cranberry Walnut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
I bake bread quite often and this is my "new favorite". It has a substantial texture and is slightly sweet from the cranberries and honey. Makes good toast too. I just used the bread machine to mix it and then put it in a stoneware pan and baked in the oven. Great bread.
