Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
Amazing flavour! I made no changes to the recipe. The hardest part was waiting for the loaf to come out of the oven because it smelled SO good while it was cooking. Moist, delicious, flavourful. My husband couldn't believe it was turkey because there was so much flavour. He RAVED over this dish and told me to triple the recipe next time. I felt like a star and will certainly make this again. Thanks for posting!

Pepper Jelly Glazed Chicken

So easy and delicious! I cubed leftover chicken, tossed with this sauce then baked until warm at 350 for about half an hour. Served over rice.

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
FANTASTIC! I used no fat mayo but other than that, followed the recipe exactly. I broiled the veggies as I don't currently have a BBQ and they turned out great! This will certainly be a regular for our family. I look forward to trying out different veggies for variety. Thanks for posting!

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
Delicious. Tangy. Tender. Melt-in-your-mouth amazing. I took advice from other reviewers who suggested using a high end balsamic vinegar and I also doubled the recipe. This made enough sauce to drizzle over the mashed potatoes I served on the side and allowed for the hungry boys in my house. It took about 15+ minutes for the sauce to reduce to the proper consistency so be patient. In the meantime, I kept the chops warm in the oven on low. They didn't dry out at all. I also made steamed broccolini for a side dish and served with a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon. First time making lamb...my new favourite!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Chewy - NOT 'cakey' and oh-so-DELICIOUS! LOADED with chips - I mixed 1C milk chocolate and 1C semi-sweet per one reviewer's suggestion. They went faster than I could imagine so next time I'll definitely double the recipe. These cookies were a good size so one might consider reducing the size of the dough-drop to make it go a little farther. :)

Ham and Cheese Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Flavour is great but it didn't cook all the way through. I had to pop it back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes as it was runny and the cheese hadn't melted in the center. I added spicy Italian sausage, 1-1/2 tsp of powdered mustard (to the egg mixture) and substituted a mozza/edam shredded blend for swiss cubes. I also don't like the crunch of corn flakes so I used Italian seasoned bread crumbs instead and it worked great!

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
Amazing. Simply amazing. I didn't have nutmeg on hand so I added a pinch each of ginger and cloves and it tasted wonderful. My 15 year old son and 3 of his hollow-legged friends just consumed half the pan for an after school snack. :) This will definitely become a permanent recipe in my family's cookbook. Thanks for posting!

Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
Absolutely delicious!!! Followed the recipe with the exception of cooking the Quinoa in a no salt added chicken broth (it doesn't need the sodium). Next time I'll try cutting the lemon juice a little bit and will add more feta to taste. This is going to be a new staple in my diet. Thank you for posting!!!

Grandma's Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Delicious! I had never before made any kind of sauce from scratch and now my husband thinks I'm a gourmet chef. This was so easy - but I won't tell him that... I used ground beef, ground veal and sweet basil Italian sausages. I also added a splash of red wine about 15 minutes prior to serving but I only let the sauce simmer for 1 hour. My family was starving at the time and the aroma made it impossible to wait any longer. The recipe made enough sauce that I could freeze half. The sauce would be great for lasagna too so I'll try that next time. I will make this again and again and again! Thanks Grandma!!!
