Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
My husband went back for thirds and my 2 yr old ate two helpings! Based on other reviews, I used 1/4 cup of mayo, and it turned out fine. I didn't have four cups of pasta sauce, but the three cups of sauce and one cup of water worked out great. I sliced the bread, but should have cut the slices in half to make it a little easier to eat. I didn't have green onions, but used minced onions and the meatballs were yummy! This is a keeper!

Candy Bar Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
The second time I made these I used the entire can of the milk and sliced the candy bars instead of cutting them in chunks. I think they turned out better this way. I got great reviews!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2007
I was disappointed with this dish. I even followed various suggestions (more milk, no breadcrumbs, paprika, ground mustard), but it was dry and bland. If you want a cheesy dish, this is not it. My husband's tip was "to find a better recipe". It was worth a try though, esp with so many fabulous reviews.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Followed various suggestions such as chicken broth instead of water, different seasonings, and veggies. I shredded the chicken after four hours on high, then placed biscuit dough on top (flattened and cut into triangles)and cooked another 1.5 hours on high. The biscuits are good, but they are biscuits and not really dumplings. It seemed more like pot pie, but very good.

Apple-Cinnamon Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
Very good! I didn't do the two layers. Instead I placed the apples on top of the bread, combined all the other ingredients in a bowl, then poured this mixture over the bread and apples. Saved time and it was yummy!

Turkey and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
This dish was pretty good. I followed suggestions and used 2 lbs of hashbrowns and a 9x13 pan. I also used two entire cans of the cream soups. I think green beans would be a good substitution if you aren't a broccoli fan.

Beef Noodle Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
This was just an "okay" dish for me. It was a bit bland even after adding veggies and cheese. Needs more spices. Very easy to prepare though.

Tomato Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
Very tasty! I also added garlic, a dash more vodka and doubled the red pepper flakes b/c my family likes spicy. I wish I had either mashed the tomatoes or used crushed tomatoes, just a preference.

Southwestern Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
This was good and very easy to make. I gave it four stars b/c I've had tastier egg dishes. Next time I will add pepper jack cheese to give it more zip.

Quick Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2007
Very good! I followed the recipe b/c I didn't have a chance to look at the reviews for ideas, and it still turned out great. Next time I will use a pastry shell, and use cheddar instead of swiss, or maybe pepper jack. My husband really enjoyed this too. He suggests using half pickles and half jalepenos b/c he likes it spicy.

Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I put them in the fridge for an hour or so to make it easier to cut. I also turned over the dough and pinched that side together as well before putting on the toppings. I added mozzeralla on top and cooked for 10 minutes. Yum!

Beef Shish Kebabs for Freezer Cooking

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
I made this dish six times for each member of my dinner exchange club. All six said their families loved this. My husband does too. Very easy and do not feel any changes are needed. I bought meat already cut for kabobs to save time.
