Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
Great recipe. I divided everything in half, used two loaf pans and baked at 325 for 1hr 10min. I also sprinkled a sugar/cinnamon/brown sugar mixture over the top before baking. It gave it a little extra sweetness... yum yum!!

Chocolate Caramel Candy

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
This is AMAZING! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out amazing. I didn't have any trouble with the bottom layer sticking like others did. I used non-stick spray, and it came out of the pan perfectly. Definitely cut it into one inch squares because it is so rich!

Broiled Lobster Tails

Super easy and great taste. We placed the lobster tail on the middle rack and broiled for about 20mins. Our lobsters were about 1/2lb each. I had two on the pan.

I followed the recipe exactly (at higher altitude) and came out with a perfect cake. I also baked it at a normal altitude and baked it for 65 minutes. It was a delicious cake!

Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
After looking at suggestions from others, I added half a teaspoon of salt and a third cup extra of peanut butter, and the cookies were amazing! I am at high altitude and baked the cookies at 350 degrees for eight to nine minutes. Love this recipe!!

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Best stew recipe out there. I added the flour to the meat when browning instead of at the end. Everything else I did the same. I have made this twice in two weeks!

Apple Butter Anniversary Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
This was AWESOME. I agree with the others about doubling the filling. I doubled the filling in case I needed extra. I am glad I did, because I used it all. The frosting would not stick to the cake. I decided to keep the frosing in the refrigerator and use it as a topping. I think it worked out better this way, because I don't like putting cakes in the refrigerator. I think refrigerating cakes dries them out. The cake was super moist! I baked it for 50 minutes, and that was almost too long. The edges were a little dark. Overall, it was great. Tasted amazing.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Wow! This was super easy and tasted wonderful! I used ingredients I had on hand. Instead of frozen corn, I used a drained can of corn. I used canned diced tomatoes instead of canned whole tomatoes. I did not have chili powder, so for extra kick, I added half a cup of taco sauce. I followed other recommendations and put the frozen chicken into the crock pot. FABULOUS! I will make this again and again.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Great! Great! Great! I did not use the whole tomato. I used one can of black beans in place of one can of the chili beans. A huge hit.

Very good. The first time I made the dip, I followed the recipe. The second time I added garlic salt to the sour cream/cream cheese layer. It added a bit more flavor.

Very Easy! Very delicious. I used low-sodium soy sauce. The flavor was almost too strong for my taste.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
I made a few changes to the original recipe to add flavor. I added the following spices to the soup mixture: a teaspoon of chili powder, a teaspoon of cumin and a teaspoon of garlic salt. I also used taco seasoning when I cooked the chicken. (I drained the chicken before putting it in the casserole) I also added half a can of diced tomatoes (drained). I used the other half of the canned diced tomatoes to line the bottom of the pan (in place on non-stick spray) It kept the tortillas from getting crunchy as others had mentioned. It was a hit. My boyfriend really liked it. My only complaint was that it was a little too soupy for my liking. Next time I am going to add some drained sweet corn and olives.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
Made the first time as is and gave it four stars due to lack of seasoning and too much onion. The second time I preapared this dish, I seasoned the groud beef with garlic salt and onion powder, and I added a can of corn. I also used a quarter of a large onion. Half of a small onion would suffice, but half of a large onion is too much. Very good the second time around.
