Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
This was quite good. I added chopped onions and garlic cloves to the cavity of the chicken. I used mini carrots instead of chopped large ones. I also added white wine to the beef broth, and I basted every ten minutes. The chicken was quite juicy and I was quite happy with the flavour. I used the drippings in a gravy, and it was filled with oniony, bacony goodness. I WILL make this again!!!!!

Beer Cheese Soup VI

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
A good version of beer and cheese soup. I added garlic to the mix, and I also added some pieces of cooked bacon to the soup before serving. Always a hit.

Holy Smoked Bacon and Mushroom Penne

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
Easy, tasty, will prepare again:) I added onion to enhance the flavour and I also added some flour to aid in the thickening of the sauce. This was quite good. Thanks for the idea!

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
This was quite tasty. I had one chicken breast with just the sauce on it, and the second I mixed up with pasta. Both were good. This will also work on rice. The chick is so flavoured by the bacon and mushroom that is really takes on a nice flavour. Will make again!

Pasta with Chicken Mushroom Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
This is quite creamy and also quite flavourful. I intentionally over cooked the onion to get a bit of a charred sweetness, and I added the mushrooms early to sautee them a bit. I also added half a clove of minced garlic to the sauteed onions for added flavour. Mistakenly, I used 10% cream as opposed to heavy cream, but added flour to help with the thickening. Thanks for the recipe!

BBQ Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I made my own meatballs instead of using frozen ones, so the cook time was a little longer (3.5 hours). These are great every time, and always seem to be the first thing that disappears when company comes over. Great for the beginner, or those strapped for time. Add 2 table spoons of raspberry jam and a touch of honey for enhanced sweetness. Very good.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
A savory and creamy wonderland that dances in your mouth. This dish was very easy to make. With only 5 ingredients, it is simple to make for even the extreme novice. In the end, the sauce is creamy smooth, the chicken is flavoured through and through, and is very moist. This stroganoff compliments an array of things such as pastas, rice, or even try it topped on a buttery piece of toasted baguette. Add fresh basil for a touch of sweetness. Simple and fantastic.

Roasted Garlic Peppercorn Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Very creamy and very spicy. I used less than the suggested amount of ground peppercorn, and it was still a touch too heated. But there was lots of soothing creamy sweetness from the garlic, and with the right amount of peppercorn this could be a five star sauce.

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2007
This was very good. I followed the directions precisely, and it turned out just perfect. There was a nice balance between the flavours of all of the components, and expecially some sweetness from the onions, and great mushroom flavours. The Stroganoff was creamy, and really flavoured each and every noodle. I made enough for 4 portions, so that I can eat more at a later date, and I am glad I did. This is the best tradtional stroganoff I have had to date. Add 1 clove minced garlic to mushroom/onion mixture for enhanced flavours. Thanks Coleen!

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
This is one of the best pasta and chicken dishes I have ever made, and is on par with anything I have ordered at restaurants. I used three chicken breasts and 1 package of fresh fettucini (350 grams) and the portions were just perfect. The sauce was sweet, slightly fruity, with lots of garlic shining through. It was very creamy and stayed that way throughout. A+.
