This is a great recipe, however, I could only give it 4 stars because I had to modify it. I just thought it was an absolute sin to boil that chicken without any herbs or spices. I added Thyme, Rosemary, garlic (fresh), onions(fresh), paprika, parsely, and a pinch of Cayenne Pepper. I also had to modify the dumplings because my son is allergic to dairy. I substituted Earth Balance for the butter and soy milk for the milk. I also tried this using brown rice and it came out excellent. This is a recipe where you can experiment to your heart's content on the herbs and the add in vegetables without messing it up. I loaded up the vegetables heavy. I had to double the dumpling amounts because we LOVE dumplings at our house!!!
