Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
My family loved this meal. I had to make a 2nd batch since the first one disappeared right away. I doubled the amount of vegetables and added 1 package of onion soup mix powder.

Rosemary Mashed Potatoes and Yams

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2007
This is a great way to use up leftover yams. To cut down on fat, I used no fat sour cream and 1% milk. My husband, however added a thick layer of margarine with salt & pepper added to his.

Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
Great taste! I added cubed potatoes, 1/4 cup tomato sauce and spinach. The family liked it. The perfect meal with homesteader cornbread. The 2nd time I made this recipe, I used a mixture of red kidney beans & black eyed peas. I also added 1 tsp of cumin powder & 2 tbsp of chicken bouillon powder. This was made in the crock pot. This is now my favorite bean soup recipe.

Shrimp Creole Bake

This meal was delicious. I didn't have any zucchini so I didn't put any in. My husband thought it would be good with okra added. I will definately prepare this again.

My husband loved this cake. He told me to save the recipe. I used canola oil instead of butter and it still turned out great.

This is a great basic recipe. I spiced it up adding 1 package of Lawry's spaghetti sauce powder. I used 3 cups of cooked rice instead of the pasta. I also added 1 can of corn.

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
This cake is heavier than cake mixes but goes great with strawberries and whipped cream. I followed the advice of another person and used the egg yolks in gold cake. I will make this again. Thanks.

Be Prepared Five-Bean Soup Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
This meal is so good! I used one package of mixed dry beans (soaked the night before). This made it a little too salty for me but my husband loved it. This was cooked in the crockpot for several hours. I will definately make this again, it is so tasty. Thanks for the recipe.

Fluffy Baked Eggs and Bacon

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
Everyone tried this but it did not really go over that well. My husband suggested that it would have been better with a crust. I don't think that I will make it again.

Chicken 'n' Biscuits

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Following others recommendations, I doubled ingredients to make more sauce. I added 2 T. of chicken bullion as my family prefers things to be on the salty side. Instead of baking in the oven, I left the sugar out of the dough and used same recipe to make dumplings, cooking in a pot for 15 minutes with a tight fitting lid. The dumplings were excellent. Everyone in the family liked it. I will make it again. Thanks for the recipe.

Goulash

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
This was a big hit with my family. I followed recommendations of using less tomato products so I cut it down to 26 1/2 oz. can of tomato sauce and 14.5 oz. of crushed tomatoes. That worked for me. I don't like cooked peas so I added frozen peas when the meat mixture was almost cooked. I didn't have green pepper so I substituted red pepper. I added 1 T. of chili pdr. to spice it up, next time I will increase it to 2 T. chili pdr. Thank you for submitting this recipe, I will definately prepare it again.
