Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
I liked this recipe. I used margarine instead of butter and left out the salt. I ran out of vanilla so I substituted maple favoring. I will make these again.

Andouille Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
Instead of making sausage, I mixed the ingredients and fried the meat with chopped onions. I then added sliced boiled potato and some eggs that I had scrambled up. The spicing of the meat is incredible. This was a big hit with the family.

Pear Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
The cake has a strong pear flavour which I liked. The kids were anxious to try the cake so it did not get a chance to cool. Served with ice cream, it is delicious.

Hamburger Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
This recipe was well liked by the family. I did make some changes. I doubled the recipe, used 1 small can of tomato soup and 1 1/2 large can of cream of chicken soup. The other 1/2 can of chicken soup I added to the mashed potatoes. As suggested by someone else, I used corn instead of green beans. I put the hamburger/soup mixture on bottom, then cheese and mashed potatoes on top. I broiled it in the oven until the mashed potatoes were golden brown. Usually when I prepare something new, my husband will say, "I liked it better the last time" or "Not bad if you add lots of margarine, salt and pepper." This time he said that this had really good flavor.

Sweet-and-Sour Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
My family really liked this. I didn't have any cider vinegar so I just used regular vinegar but not quite as much as the recipe called for. I also added the juice from the canned pineapple to it.

Pork and Cabbage with Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This recipe was a huge hit with my family. The only change that I made was that I used ham instead of pork tenderloin. There were no leftovers. I will definitely be making this again.

Chicken Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
This is easy to prepare with great results. I chopped up some fresh carrots and a small amount of celery. I cooked this in water and at the last minute added some fresh peas. I don't care for canned vegetables. I used a whole onion in the recipe and added 1 T. of chopped garlic. I also used a large can of the cream of chicken soup.

Brown Sugar Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
This is the 2nd time I have prepared this meal with great results. I browned the pork chops first. I doubled the liquid ingredients and put everything in a roasting pan and added sweet potato, carrots and onions. Baked everything for 1 1/2 hours and made some rice to go with it.

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
I took the advice of another person and substituted cream of celery soup for the cream of mushroom soup. I added frozen peas to the meal. I placed everything in a casserole dish and covered with Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese then broiled it in the oven. It was delicious.

Tuna Noodle Casserole IV

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I started out making this recipe, but after hearing cries of, "But we don't like tuna!" the casserole became a chicken noodle casserole. I used egg noodles, carrots, celery, onion and green pepper. I also just prepared a white sauce since I didn't have any cream soups in the house.

Okra, Corn and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
My husband really liked this but I did change the recipe a little. Instead of bacon, I used 1 package of linguisa. I didn't bother with file powder since linguisa is spicy by itself. At the end, I threw in a few eggs and cooked it. It didn't look that appetizing but it was really tasty. I will definitely prepare this again. Thanks for the recipe.

Great recipe! I followed the suggestion of baking in a cast iron frying pan but used canola oil. I also changed the spicing a little, adding garlic powder and onion powder. Thanks for the recipe, I will definitely use it again.

Beans and Rice

I used this as a filling for tacos instead of on rice. I did not find it too salty, but my family tends to like salty meals. Great recipe, thanks.

Creamy Chicken Hot Dish

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2007
My family liked this. I used Best Foods reduced fat mayonnaise instead of regular mayonnaise. I didn't have enough potato chips on hand so I used up some leftover crutons. It turned out great. Thanks for the recipe.

This is a nice way to use up leftover eggnog. It is good without the ice cream, as someone else suggested.

Broccoli Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I loved this casserole but did make a few changes. I followed others suggestions of serving over mashed potatoes. Trying to be conscious of saturated fats, I used only 1 can of mushroom soup (instead of celery) and half the amount of sour cream. This meal is delicious even without the cheese. I sprinkled seasoned pepper and beef bullion over the meat mixture. Next time I will try this with chicken. Thanks for the recipe, it is definately a keeper.

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
We thought this was really good. I left out the celery. I didn't have ground beef on hand so I used left over sirloin steak sliced thin. I sprinkled chili pdr. over the top before adding cheese. My husband thought it needed more cheese on top. Following other's recommendations, I cut down on the amount of noodles.

Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
This was good! I fried linguica sausage meat cut in small pieces in olive oil. I also fried 2 cups of chopped chicken in the linguica fat. This was followed by l large onion the same way. I used vegetable trio rotini noodles. Now I wish that I had doubled the batch! It did not last long.
