Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup I

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
This is the 2nd time I have used this recipe. It is also good with broccoli. I didn't have tamari so I left it out. Also, I fried up a handful of bacon and added it.

Zesty Ranch Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I liked the combination of ingredients, although I did add some dill pickle to the recipe, plus I like potato salad with more eggs. Two cups of chopped parsley seemed excessive to me, so I just added 2 tablespoons full. I did like the use of Ranch dressing in it. Thanks for the recipe.

I left the wine out and it still turned out great. My husband and I both liked it.

I really liked this dish. I added 1/4 c. chopped onion to the ingredients. I fried 4 slices of chopped bacon until crispy and added it at the end.

Orange-Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This ham I found quick to prepare. We usually only have ham with sweet sauce at Christmas or Thanksgiving. This one is nice when you don't have much time for preparation. I will definitely use this recipe again.

Venison and Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I used venison steaks cut up small instead of ground venison since that is what I had on hand. I also didn't have any great northern beans so I just used 2 cans of pork and beans. The flavor was great!

Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This is an excellent marinade but I did change it somewhat. I followed others advice and left out the salt & pepper since we usually add our own at mealtime. We didn't need to add salt, it was perfect. I also didn't have rosemary so that didn't get added. I only added 1 tablespoon of steak seasoning. Next time I make this I will increase it to 2 and will add some brown sugar. I also added 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke. I marinaded the meat for 12 hours before cooking. The steaks were so tender. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
This is a nice simple recipe. I followed another viewer's recommendation and used oil. Once the batter was in the pan I added slices of thinly peeled apple (in rows). I then sprinkled with cinnamon and added brown sugar, then baked for about 40 minutes. It makes a great apple coffee cake.

Potato and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This is an excellent recipe. Once the vegetables were cooked, I threw in some leftover cooked broccoli that I had in the fridge. I also used evaporated milk instead of heavy cream since that is all I had on hand. I will definitely use this again. Thanks for the recipe.

I really like this recipe. The only change I made was using Italian seasoned bread crumbs. Thanks for the recipe.

Meatballs with Pepper Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
This is excellent! I didn't have any mushrooms but decided to make it without. I added 1 T. of mustard as suggested by someone else. Since I was using regular ground beef, I placed the meatballs on a baking sheet covered with tinfoil and baked at 375 degrees. After 30 minutes, I drained off the oil. I then removed the tinfoil for the last few minutes and continued baking to let them brown. I served it with rice. Thanks for the recipe, I will definitely serve this again.

Awesome Green Beans

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
What an excellent idea! I used a 1 lb. roll of country sausage. I fried it, adding 1 stalk of finely chopped celery and 1/2 of an onion chopped fine. I drained off the grease, then added 2 cans of green beans. I had some leftover potato patties in the fridge. I chopped them up and threw them in as well and cooked for a few minutes. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for the recipe.

Butterscotch Pudding I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
I really like this recipe. I did not find it too sweet at all. I did not have any corn starch, and substituted flour. I think it would have been creamier with the corn starch. I also cooked it in the microwave. This was great served with cake.

Cream of Broccoli Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This recipe is exceptional. I didn't have chicken broth so I substituted beef broth but it still worked out well. I had 1 cup of leftover mashed potatoes in the fridge so I added it just to use it up. I will definitely be making this one again. Thanks for the recipe.

Pork Hash Brown Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
The family really liked this. I precooked the pork by frying it. I also sprinkled some seasoning salt on it. I left the mushrooms out this time because one family member doesn't like them. Next time I will add them. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

Weeknight Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I started following this recipe, then made changes as I went along. I cut up the chicken in 2" chunks, dipped them in beaten eggs, rolled them in cracker crumbs then fried in oil. I set this aside. In a casserole dish, I placed cooked rice, partially cooked broccoli, the chicken, diced ham and covered with a basic cream sauce. Then sprinkled the top with cheese and baked it in the oven. It was excellent.
