About this Cook
I'm 47 years old and been cooking since i can remember starting with my mother and grandmother. My brother and i attended culinary school starting in 9th grade in high school. Petosky high school in northern michigan offered a culinary program from north central michigan college. During that time my parents owned a nice dinner house called the voyager and the more famous,(still there)the bowers harbor inn. located on the old mission peninsula on lake michigan is also registered as one of the top haunted dwellings. My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for thanksgiving my entire family of around 65 people and still growing all gather in lagrande, oregon where the family ranch is located. Our tradition is that during the meal one by one we all give 3 things that we are thankful for. ( alot of tears )
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for a 200 guest party(BBQ)and everything went perfect and the guests were very thankful!
My cooking tragedies
I had a superbowl party at my house and prepared homemade taco's including the shells. I served the taco's and everything seemed to be ok until i started noticing peoples faces acting funny and i knew not eveyone could be unhappy, so i made one for myself and i now relized what went wrong, that morning i had made cinnamon rolls and put fresh ground cinnamon in a dish as i do with all my fresh ground spices. Ya you guessed it instead of using ground cumin in the meat, cinnamon. (nasty!!)
