Scottish Shortbread IV

Another novice! I've never tried a shortbread recipe! I DIDN'T CHANGE A THING - except the baking time. Why? I made fat bars maybe 1" x 1-1/2" x 3" and baked 30 minutes instead of 25 because I only left a 1/2" space between bars - not knowing they EXPAND. My bars snuggled next to each other - so they needed that xtra 5 min. Yes, use salted and SOFTENED (but NOT melted!) butter. Bake on baking paper (parchment)! Then they do not stick to the pan. Thank you!!!!!

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

By using only one substitution, this meatloaf was terrible. It was my fault for using Italian bread crumbs for the herb-seasoned dry bread stuffing called for in the recipe - because this meatloaf was way too dry. Don't substitute - and don't overbake!

Banana Banana Bread

As other reviewers have said, this is a great recipe - and definitely needs 6 bananas. Otherwise, don't change anything. This is NOT a sweet cake, it's a wonderfully dense bread. But, horrors, I could not find my loaf pan last night - so last minute I baked this for 42 minutes in a 9x13 pan.

Easy Baked Chicken

Fantastic! Not only is the flavor and crunchiness out of this world, but this recipe knows chicken!!!! She bakes it only 25-30 minutes, not like other website "chefs" who advise baking 1-1/2 hours! That's TOUGH chicken. Also, I had some leftover gravy and stuffing that I mixed together and placed it over the chicken breast halves. This was another alternative!

Molasses Crinkles

Just finished making a double batch and 3 people ate 6 each before they could cool. I only made 2 small changes: because I absolutely love pieces of ginger in spice cookies, I added 1/2 cup diced crystalized ginger and used half molasses, half honey in the 1/4 cup measure. Excellent recipe.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

I definitely want to try this recipe and have read MOST ALL the reviews. MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! But, please help! For those who used non-lasagna noodles (e.g., penne pasta or rotuno, etc.),do you pre-cook this pasta at all? Please post response!

Chocolate Chip Bars

Jan.'07: Just tried this recipe because of seeing 46 mostly-good reviews. They taste really good - and, yes, more cake-like but still delicious. Because of the wonderful comments from so many, I did change the recipe slightly. I reduced the baking powder and soda to 3/4 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp baking soda. I used all butter (2 sticks) and used half white/half brown sugar. I reduced the milk to 1 Tbsp. Also, I baked these 35 minutes because of suggestions from other reviewers. THANKS reviewers!
