Swiss Cheese 'n' Onion Quiche

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
Have made this as-is, and thought it was pretty tasty. This go-'round I split the recipe between two deep-dish pie shells (doubling only the egg-cheese-salt mixture), used sweet onions (vidalia), and added spinach. Great as a base-recipe, or word-for-word.

Autumn Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Substituted milk for the apple juice/water. My husband was a HUGE fan of this recipe. Told me this should replace my regular pork chop recipe - and even went back for more sauce to eat over his California blend veggies. There is a similar recipe listed from Campbell's Kitchen, that omits the apple juice/water and spicy brown mustard - I'm glad I went with this one instead.

Delicious chili! I use black beans instead of red/kidney and add either a drained can or box of frozen corn. Yumm!!!

Grandma's Quail

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
One hour seemed too long to cook. The sour cream did not "melt" as the directions implied it would. Taste was okay. Will not make again.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
DELICIOUS! I followed reviewer Ginger's advice and went with a 4lb Pork Butt instead of ribs. Cooked with broth for 8 hours on low in the crock pot, removed and shredded, drained the broth and replaced the meat then dumped a bottle of barbecue sauce on top and continued cooking on low until dinner time (about 2 more hours). I didn't start the meat the night before as Ginger had suggested, but it still turned out awesome, tender and delicious!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
WOW - this makes awesome Alfredo sauce! I did make a few minor adjustments. 1) Remove shrimp when cooked through, then complete the sauce, adding shrimp back just before serving. 2) Used heavy whipped cream, as I had it on hand. 3) Added Parmesan to the sauce as it cooked (probably 1/2 cup). My hubby loved it too, and we have decided we're never buying Alfredo sauce again - this was easy and delicious!

Added basil, oregano, onion and green bell pepper - cooked the pasta in the sauce (adding another 2 cans of water) - turned out great!

Yogurt Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
Good flavor, but DO NOT make this in a food processor. It becomes too watery. I'm not sure how I'll thicken this up... EDIT - added a small container of sour cream to thicken, and it definitely helped -- both with flavor and consistency. I hadn't realized before just how salty this was by the recipe. Much better now.

Marmite Mince

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
I couldn't stand Vegemite alone on toast, but my husband loves it so I thought I'd see if there was another way to eat it that would suit both of our tastes. With this recipe, I'd eat the stuff regularly. My husband and I LOVED this - we served it with mashed potatoes and sweet peas, and mixed everything together a bit on our plates. Wish I'd have thought to make bread to go with it - a crunchy French bread would have been fantastic.

Country-Style Ribs

I LOVED these, though my husband wasn't too impressed with them. Made them with pot liquor greens and corn bread, then the next night I poured the remainder of the sauce over pasta - MMMM :9

Caramelized Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Tasty treat! The day I wanted to make these, I had them skewered and ready for the grill... and then a thunderstorm hit. Did them in the oven instead, and they were pretty good! 400 degrees until the internal temp reaches 130 (internal temp will rise 5-10 degrees as the meat rests).

Perfect Baked Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Wow - this was GOOD! I didn't have time to marinate the meat in the rub mixture, but even just five minutes of sitting worked out fine. We ate this with fried plantains and refried black beans, with rum and pineapple juice to drink :)

Wine and Dijon Marinated Pork Loin

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
Used this on porkchops, and it was great! Changing the recipe yeild from 6 servings to 2 makes the perfect amount of sauce for four porkchops. Still cook in the oven, but be sure to have your meat thermometer nearby -- they won't take long.
