Toe's Best Salsa

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Love it! I've made this recipe several times now. Got rave reviews from guests. I LOVE it! Except that I truly can only handle mild spiciness. "Medium" pace salsa is a bit much for me. SO, I just don't use the serranos. Even "de-veining" as suggested in the notes doesn't make it a mild salsa. So I omit the serranos all together. It still tastes WONDERFUL!! THANK YOU THANK YOU! I'm going to learn how to jar this so that I can just have it whenever I want! :) It's way better tasting to me than anything I can get from the store.

Super Summer Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
Everyone I've ever made it for loves it as is!! What I love about this is that it's pretty simple. And EVERY TIME I take it anywhere people always comment on how good it is. I've had several people ask for the recipe. And I just wanted to come on and write my review! THANKS for the great crowd pleaser!

Orange Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Not my favorite. Hubby didn't like it much either. I'm a big orange-flavored anything fan. But this was just too much work for the turn out -- Nothing great here.

so good and so simple compared to other chocolate chip cookie recipes. It took only 10 minutes from the time I started measuring to the time I had the first batch in the oven. WOOT

Original Nestle® Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
NOT cool. These cookies have the worst presentation in the WORLD! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO flat!! I should have added more flour than the recipe called for. Maybe they wouldn't be so flat. The chips are elevated above the rest of the cookie. This is bad. I will NEVER make these again! Try "Best Chocolate Chip cookies" those are my all time FAVORITES! These are just not cool.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! DELICIOUS!! ...I can't STAND spicy things...So I only used a tiny bit of cumin and with the sauce, I just combined the chili and tomato soup...It turned out great! and NOT SPICY! To add a little flavor to the beef/bean mixture, I added a bit of sage, red pepper, and basil...The beef/bean mixture tasted SOOOO much better than the first time I made it! GREAT RECIPE! I LOVE IT! I will make these for company!! Also...You can just make up a 9x13 pan and bake it for a bit...Then you don't have to microwave individual plates and it is more presentable that way. THANKS!

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
AWESOME!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! I've had this broccoli salad at a few get-togethers before and was so impressed. Anyway, sort the ratings by most helpful and use the suggestions by the most helpful rating. It's GREAT! Except...I used fancy shredded cheese, and I think it's great. Also, I used YOGURT instead of MAYO! (with a couple tablespoons of miracle whip for flavor). GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! THANKS!

this is something to rave about! So great and yummy! And healthy too! Used 2 1/3 cups of frozen mixed veggies instead of the tedious chopping of carrots and celery. It worked great! :)

Buckeye Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Thanks to everyone who reviewed before me, they were a snap to put together, have great consistency and taste absolutely delicious! First of all, I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I used crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy. It was definitely great! (and I didn't have to add anything extra to get the crunch. :) And, thanks to previous reviewers, I creamed together the sugar & peanut butter before mixing in the room-temperature butter (not melted). After adding the butter and mixing around a couple times with my spoon, I put the spoon on the counter and mixed with my hands!! It creamed super fast and well! Then, I rolled the dough into balls and set on wax paper (I put the wax paper in a 16 X 20 pan) and put a toothpick in them before sticking them in the freezer for 15 minutes (which was plenty of time for them to harden). And I don't have a double boiler, so I melted the chocolate chips in the microwave and just made sure I stirred every 30 seconds for the first minute and 1/2, and then every 15 seconds for the next 45 seconds (because they can burn very easily in the microwave). I did have to put the chocolate back in the microwave about 4 times because it kept getting hard. I dipped half the balls in semi-sweet, and half of them in semi-sweet/butterscotch mix. I like the semi-sweet/butterscotch mix, and my husband likes the semi-sweet. So, we're satisfied! I hope these tips help some people, because I think mine turned out just fantastic!

Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
I've always been a big fan of puppy chow! I added some butter (1/4 Cup). The cereal/chocolate goo mix ratio is perfect. With the Chex Muddie Buddie recipe, they call for more cereal than the chocolate goo can handle. I didn't have any gallon size ziplocs so I just covered the bowl I mixed it in with Saran Wrap and that worked great! It didn't even leak any sugar! HOORAH! Thanks for the recipe!

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
Definitely a very good cheesecake! My husband says the crust tastes like a sugar cookie! :) I didn't have heavy whipping cream laying around, so I looked up on google some substitutes for heavy whipping cream, and found out that sour cream is fermented whipping cream. Well by golly...So I just used sour cream, and it turned out great! :) Thanks for the recipe!

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
This recipe is the best just how it is! I've made it before and it's totally a 5 star! But holy cow...the last time I made it, I added garlic like how another viewer suggested...and it was NG, no good. The garlic totally ruins that "homemade biscuits and gravy taste." DO NOT add garlic if you want that good home-cookin taste! :) Just to let you know. Thank you, goodbye.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
This was surprisingly good! I followed others' suggestions and did a bit on my own. I wasn't sure if the "3cups cooked macaroni" meant that it was three cups before it was cooked or after. Well, I put in 2 1/2 cups uncooked macaroni, which yielded about 5 cups. I don't like to waste stuff, so I used it all. I used 1 can of cream of chicken, 1 can of cream of mushroom, 3/4 cup milk. I sprinkled garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Others said they used mayo..I was all out of mayo so I used ranch dressing. SO GOOD! I sliced carrots into it -- they weren't all they way cooked, partly crunchy, but I like it like that. And used 2 cans of tuna instead of one. Didn't have onions, so sprinkled Italian style breadcrumbs on top which also enhanced the flavor. This made 6 large servings. And I'm eating the leftovers right now and they're pretty good!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
I made this dish last night. I was rather let down while eating it. I cooked it for 60/20 and with 1" thick pork chops, and they weren't fall off the bone tender. I could barely cut them with a fork. As for taste, they were great. That's why it's getting a 4 star. After reading the reviews, I was ready for the most spectacular dish ever. It wasn't spectacular, it was great.
