About this Cook
I live in a delightful cottage home (slanted floors and no two windows measure the same), with two cats and a nice flower garden
My favorite things to cook
Slow cooker recipes...brunch stuff and fresh veggie stir fry
My favorite family cooking traditions
I suppose I got my start with my Dad, who was born and raised in the bakery business. Being from a family of seven children, I make way way too much food, but love leftovers. My secret to German Potatoe Salad, is to fry the onions separate from the bacon till very golden.
My cooking triumphs
making something from only three ingrediants. Favorite? 1 package of linquini, cooked and drained. Add 1 jar of marinated artichoke hearts, parm. cheese and eat!!!
My cooking tragedies
Oh, once, I made ginger cookies that called for a cup of coffee. I used the grounds, not the 1 cup of liquid coffee!!!!

Sophie's Kolacky
Oh, yes...THIS is the one you've been searching for. I get raves when I put these together for the holidays or just when I'm looking for something simple but elegant. Not too sweet, but just right. Like a few other comments, I used the canned paste type filling (Solo Brand), and rolled out the dough and cut in squares, and bring up two corners and do a little twist. Always a hit! Be sure to bring the recipe to your party, you'll get a lot of people who want you to share the recipe!

Linguine with Asparagus, Bacon, and Arugula
yummmm! I made this as a chilled pasta salad. Something other than the usual bottled dressing over pasta. I got lots of raves when I brought it to a brunch! Sweeeeettt!
