Pumpkin Muffins II

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
I thought these were good but there are too many spices going on. I love cloves, but they are very overpowering in these muffins. My husband said that he wouldn't know they are pumpkin if I hadn't told him. I will make these again but I will cut the cloves completely out and cut the rest of the spices in half.

Squash-Carrot Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
I have made this recipe twice in the last two weeks and my family loves it. The only thing I do differently is saute the onions and carrots first so that they aren't too crunchy, and I sprinkle water over the stuffing on top so it is not too crunchy as well. Other than that I stuck to it. You could even use zucchini or any type of squash in place of the yellow, and you could use different soups for something different. Thanks for sharing this recipe, it gave me a good way to use up my garden squash.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
This recipe didn't turn out well for me. When I put everything in the casserole dish it didn't look right to me but I went with it. I was right because as it started to cook there wasn't enough liquid to even cook the pasta so I had to add milk and hot water to get the moisture in there. I also added some seasonings to give it more flavor.

Tater Tot Casserole III

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I tried this recipe as it was written and my family said it was too salty and mushy. Next time I will try and add lots of veggies to the soup mixture and put the tots on top to crisp them up and maybe slash the seasoned salt.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I made these without using a bread machine and they turned out amazing!! My kids were in heaven and were sad that I will not be making these again until Christmas morning. They were fluffy and gooey. I did what other reviewers did and flipped them immediately upside down so all the ooze could run into the center. As for others saying that they unrolled in the oven, you should put them somewhat close together so when they cook, they will all come together and stick.

Thai Shrimp Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
They weren't terrible but they weren't great to me either. The flavors are really great together but I didn't like the texture of the burger very well. I think it would taste better to just cook the shrimp in the seasonings rather than ground up the shrimp into a burger like that. Maybe I will try this recipe again sometime but with ground turkey instead.

Korean Bean Curd (Miso) Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I loved this soup, it reminds me of the Korean restaurants I get it from and that is comforting because I grew up eating Korean food. I did not use dashi granules, but I did use half chicken broth and half water as my liquid and then added my korean bean paste and hot pepper paste. It tasted perfect! I also like my tofu extra firm so I used that. yum yum!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This is the best zucchini bread I have ever had. I made mini loaves which cut my baking time down a bit and I went with a previous reviewer mixed brown sugar and a tad bit of water to make a glaze and brushed it on top of the warm bread. When it cools the glaze makes a delicious crunchy sweet topping, yum yum yum!!!

Thai Grilled Beef Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
I loved this salad!! Instead of using Kecap Manis (which I am not completely sure what that is) I just mixed equal amounts of brown sugar and soy sauce and it came out perfect!! I also added a little rice vinegar to my liking. It was a good change from ordinary salad.

Carrot Rice

This was good, but I had to add a couple TBSP of soy sauce because I just didn't think there was enough flavor. I liked it after my addition and served if along side grilled cilantro salmon recipe from this site.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
These were wonderful! I used 3 c. wheat flour and 3/4 c. white flour because I wanted them to have more wheat in them and 1 package of dry active yeast. Other than that I did everything like the recipe and they turned out great. They were kind of sweet which went perfect with my chicken salad sandwiches. I am going to try to shape them sub style next time.

Soft Onion Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
These had a really good flavor but they needed more liquid. Mine came out dense and I am wondering if it is because the recipe states to knead the dough after removing it from the bread machine, that is when the dough seemed to get tough on me and I had just began to knead it. I will try this recipe again and skip that step.

Peanut Butter Bars I

I loved these!! The graham crackers in them gave them a really good flavor. I made this recipe exactly as it was stated, the only thing I did differently is I used SunButter instead of peanut butter and it was yummy!! Thanks for sharing!

Carrot Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
I was a little funny about trying this recipe but I am really glad I did!! My teen daughter is a vegetarian and the rest of us are not so I made these for her while we had chicken sandwiches and these were to die for!!! I added carrot and zucchini and followed the recipe exactly as stated and they held together perfectly and had an amazing flavor!! My whole non vegetarian family was jealous of my vegetarian teen after tasting these and they are requesting these for our next burger meal. Do try these, you won't be dissapointed.. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
